One of Chicago's most beautiful neon signs. I love the four color neon and the businesses address in green neon. Its rare to see a sign this old and have so many light bulbs still working.

Grace's moved a few blocks up Milwaukee Ave, but Chose not to move the sign.

Negative scanned in January 2015 to replace the scanned print from 2007.

Update 2023

Graces Furniture had moved from 2618 to 2945 N. Milwaukee Avenue.

Some 2010 Yelp reviews indicated Grace's was closing the new location at which time (according to Google Street View Maps) was called Gracie’s Dream Furniture.

From 2013 to roughly 2016 The store was called Famsa Furniture - Electronics and Appliances.

In 2017, Famsa was demolished for new retail and apartments in a 4 story building to be built.

Construction took place over the next 4 years, possibly stalling for a period during the 2020 Pandemic.

As of 2021, there are no signs hanging up on the building or in the windows advertising any businesses in the ground floor units. Even the apartments above look vacant.

a 2021 Google Street View Map shows Grace’s Neon Sign still hangs on the old building at 2618 N, Milwaukee Ave.

2024 Google Street view shows the ground floor all boarded up and covered in graffiti, same goes for the south wall.

Well, I guess now we know where the financial crisis came from!

There seem to be a lot of these ghost signs in East Liverpool, OH.

Tradition is important to 1. FC Nürnberg. They were the first Bundesliga club to name the stadium's stands after some of its greatest players.

(But it didn't stop them selling the naming rights of the Frankenstadion, which is now known as the easyCredit Stadion!)
