East Side of Manhattan refers to the side of Manhattan which abuts the East River and faces Brooklyn and Queens. Fifth Avenue, Central Park from 59th to 110th Streets, and Broadway below 8th Street separate it from the West Side. The major neighborhoods on the East Side include (from north to south) East Harlem, Yorkville, the Upper East Side, Turtle Bay, Murray Hill, Kips Bay, Gramercy, East Village, and the Lower East Side. The main north–south expressways servicing the East Side are the Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive and Harlem River Drive, which for the majority of their length are separated from the east shore of the island by the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway. The East Side is served by the IRT East Side Line subway and by many bus lines.

Manhattan's Eastside. This is three shots stitched together taken from across the East River in Gantry Park, Queens.
Built circa 1870, this house features elements of the Italianate and Queen Anne styles, including an intricate cornice, a porch with an integrated gazebo with a conical roof, arched windows with large hoods, quoins, and a dormer with a semi-circular window. The house was at one point home to the Sidener Publishing Company during the 20th Century. The house, located along Scott Boulevard in Covington’s Eastside neighborhood, and is a contributing structure in the Helentown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Over the next couple of weeks, dead trees will definitely be a theme as they were a real feature at Lake Bonney. Trying to photograph the milky way was tricky this evening due to the position close to the horizon and the setting moon, and lastly, cloud coming in from the west. shortly after this shot, I had to move to the other side of the lake.
