Boats waiting on the beach

Now cleared of its fittings.

The former Torbay View, later Abbeyfield Court care home. Initially, we assumed that all the residents had been moved out (we had heard talk elsewhere of the place closing down), but later noted that there were a couple of bedroom lights showing in the evenings. I suppose that these might have been left turned on in error; but it opens up the horrid possibility of a resident or two having been missed in the removals, who remain hiding in their rooms, waiting for somebody to call off the dogs, and venturing out only to find a little unguarded Kennomeat and water to sustain themselves.

Obviously, these barriers are dangerous. This one appears to have cut off the poor chap's head.

Some light at the end of the tunnel or is there?

At Otterton Mill, Devon.

Taken using a Sony DSC-V1 and a Kood R72 filter. This old field roller has been left in the clearing for many years, at least ten to my own knowledge.

Early signs of spring.

Please ignore the overdose of over-obvious symbolism here. It wasn't deliberate, but any other angle on the snowdrops tended to get in views of the floodlighting, toilet, or something else manky.

Beer, Devon, England. Summer.

In East Devon a gentle course with good memories for me a place where Ronnie and I made a good go of it in 2003. There are a series of par 3 holes I recall all very difficult. Well worth a visit.

There used to be a 19th Century two storey angle fronted toll-house in the traditional style stood in front of the left hand end of this cottage in East Budleigh in East Devon. It was demolished in 1977 probably to improve access and there is a small plaque on the wall to commemorate this.

... in a friend's garden.

Well another cold morning and conditions looked good for another great sunrise, I did contemplate other locations but realistically I only had time to get to Budleigh again, I made it just in time.

Well, OK, not any window. It has to be that particular window with a stuffed stag's head, dangly snowflakes, and assorted wooden wading birds.

On the road down to Beer beach in East Devon there is a shack where you can buy fresh fish straight from the boats that work there. Taken in summer 2010.
