35 years ago in East Angus, Quebec we find two Canadian Pacific RS18u's working the Quebec Central rolling into town. It will get to work switching the the Bonar plant. The snow from the night before has yet to melt and summer is a month away! Notice just how many asbestos cars are on the head end. The export business on this was still pretty good.

An old bridge on the Red Deer River at East Coulee in the Alberta badlands. At one time it doubled as a bridge for motor vehicles as well as trains. Now it is too far beyond repair for use but there is talk of possible restoration,

Happy Fence Friday !! A look back at March , the only difference being, we have leaves on the trees !!!

From Bank Newton to East Marton, The Yorkshire Dales

Tasmania again, heading up the east coast not that many kilometres from Hobart as the crow flies! It's a wild and beautiful coast although this bay looks tranquil. Sadly after 8 years the exact location is a bit anonymous, but somewhere south of Swansea.

Two Denver & Rio Grande Western 2-8-2s lead a Cumbres & Toltect train east out of Chama, New Mexico.

A late 22K emerges from the East Portal of the Hoosac Tunnel on an early Saturday morning. The NS 8105 'Interstate' heritage unit leads the train east towards Ayer MA.

Sand dunes are pretty rare in Sussex - in fact I only know of three locations where they exist. At each end of East and West Sussex and a small area near Littlehampton. They are perfect for winter exploration since there is no mud!

TGIF! right? I was really hoping for a great weekend out but it looks like we will have some bad weather again tomorrow. Let’s see how it plays out. Till my next post I will leave you with a morning glow at River East. What do you think?

The East Indie duck is a Bantam duck breed that is believed to have originated in the USA.

They are mainly kept for show and ornamental purposes with their beautiful shiny plumage that glistens with either blue or green sheen. They, as with most Bantam duck breeds, are excellent flyers so you may have to watch this if you live in a built-up area.

Indiana Northeastern 2230, a former Pennsy GP30, leads another GP30, a GP7U and a GP10 with a loaded grain train east through Edon on a pleasant summer morning. A motorcar special has cleared up in the elevator track for the passage of the four veteran EMD's and their heavy train.

The first cotton mills in Belper were built by Jedediah Strutt (1726-1797) and subsequent ones by his three sons, William, George and Joseph from 1776 to 1818. They remained the property of the Strutt family until 1897 when they were amalgamated with other mills to form the English Sewing Cotton Company.

The large fortress-like, seven-storey East Mill (seen here) was built in 1912 beside the River Derwent. All the mills, except this and the North Mill (1804), were demolished between 1959 and 1963.

Chrysler Trylons (2001) and Chrysler East (1952 w/ redux 1999) - NYC - Architect Philip Johnson for Chrysler Trylons and Re-cladding of Chrysler East (orig architect of Chrysler East Reinhard, Hofmeister & Walquist)

CHRYSLER EAST - 432-foot, 32-story modernist office building completed in 1952. Designed by Reinhard, Hofmeister & Walquist, it was originally clad in white brick, but was re-clad in 1999 to a design by Philip Johnson, consisting of a curtain wall of grey-green glass with thin aluminum mullions. Formerly known as the Calyon Building and the Kent Building, it is now part of a full-block complex with a single owner, anchored on the west by the Chrysler Building.

CHRYSLER TRYLONS - 2-story retail complex the two buildings of the Chrysler Center, completed in 2001 known as The Chrysler Trylons. Designed by Philip Johnson, it consists of an east and west section of two floors clad in grey granite blocks, joined in the middle by a jagged grouping of three steep glass pyramids. The shards are pinstriped by stainless-steel framing, and the glass is slightly blue-tinted, and the crazy angled are intended to reflect the top of the Chrysler Building. The intersecting three-sided pyramids reach 57 feet, 68 feet and 73 feet high, each differently angled.

The Bangor and Aroostook heritage unit was our leader today going east on Job 2. We were spoiled with perfect weather all day, and good company. The train is seen crossing over the east outlet, where the Kennebec River flows from Moosehead lake.

A BNSF Railway work train departs East Glacier Park, Montana on Oct. 7, 2020. In the distance, above the locomotives, is the historic Glacier Park Lodge, built by the Great Northern Railway in 1913. This scene, with the train and the lodge, is one of the reasons I finally purchased a drone.

Bottom of the vertical signage for the Palace Nova East End cinema on Rundle Street.

I love the mirror finish of the uppercase lettering with its reflections of the vertical lines from the copper cladding, combined with the narrow strip of red neon against the dark gunmetal grey background.

Way east of Maui....this is in Lewes, Delaware.

The hamlet of West Portholland is below me, just out of sight

Keighley, West Yorkshire

Yesterday me, Tracey & Herbie, along with another couple popped over to Yorkshire to see this National Trust property.

The weather was good too, T shirt & shorts weather even though I took my cagoule as we expected rain.

Two of around five buildings at the base of the lighthouse. They could be dwellings, they could be sheds. We saw a few other travellers and a family of horses roaming amoungst the settlement.
