Have I told you there's no one else above you?
You fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do.”

If I'm nearby I always try to get different views of this ruined church in Dunlewy in Co Donegal, I've yet to take one that does the place justice as on one side you have Mt Errigal and the other side have 'the Poisoned Glen and the lake - well this view caught my eye - I hope you like it too

In my travels today, I passed several areas which had power poles exactly like these marching into the distance. Consequently, I am not exactly sure what road I was on when I took this, but I can say it is in Lancaster County, Virginia. The power company always does a nice job of keeping the easement area cleared. HTT
thank you so much for letting me stretch ya El... you're such a patient person and a wonderful friend <3
I stood on top of the hill looking over the lake . As far as the eye could see there were trees, after all this was northern Canada. There was a small town about 10 minutes down the road with a small grocery store and a hardware store. There was also a convenient store and something you might call a restaurant where you could get a burger, sandwich or pizza, but not much else. For any other item even a jacket or summer dress you would need to drive an hour and half to the next town.
Here most of the land was owned by the crown, (Government) and there was only a hand full of cottages all in this one small bay, but none could be seen where I was standing, so it was like I was all alone with nothing near me for miles. There are 73 steps going down to the dock, so going down would be easy, but I knew the trip up would take my breath away literally.
I proceed down on the rickety steps, there all solid, but tilted slightly to one side so I have to hang on to the railing, one misstep and it would be a long tumble down, likely breaking some bones along the way. When I reach the bottom I go to the end of the dock I sit down and close my eyes. It’s only then I realize all the chaos going on in my mind, it’s like a tornado picking up all my thoughts and ideas and slamming them into my skull, to my shock It never occurred to me just how stressed I was.
I sit for a few minutes then my senses kick in first is the sense of touch I could feel the gentle breeze flow over my body like I was swimming in the air. Next comes the sense of sound. I can hear the water lapping against the dock and the shore. I can hear the birds chirping and flying by me, I can also hear the squirrels and chipmunk running around and gathering nuts. Lastly the loons sing out there song, its my favorite bird sound and I find it’s a mournful, but pleasing sound. ( I open my eyes and see the sun shimmering across the water sparkling like diamonds on the waves.
Its early September, the trees have not changed yet, it’s around 1 pm but the sun is lower in the sky, no longer that harsh white light, but a paler yellow, it feels later then it is and fall is just around the corner and soon it will be cold. I sit a little longer with nature all around me my mind eases. It’s time to go join the others and I stare at the 73 steps I need to go up will I be able to go straight up or will I have to catch my breath along the way?
This Anglican chapel was constructed in 1740 by planters on Saint Helena Island as a chapel of ease for parishioners who had difficulty traveling to worship at the main parish church in Beaufort, South Carolina. The ruins were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved. ~ Helen Keller.

Inspired by some of the incredible photographers who've shared there strobe/speedlight work on here, I decided to foray into this world of night photography as well. Really excited to be trying something new!
Managed to time this just right, more luck than judgement mind you. After waiting around for 30 minutes in the dark, the light levels started to lift and the tide slowly started to turn making the river appear like a mirror.
There's nothing like a day on the Lakeland Fells to reset the mind I reckon. I booked a last minute day off, and headed out on the promise of a reasonable forecast. That didn't quite pan out, but it didn't matter, as just being surrounded by those wonderful views worked it's magic.
Not a great shot, but a reminder of a fantastic day. Looking back down Sourmilk Gill towards Grasmere.
“The mermaid is an archetypal image that represents a woman who is at ease in the great waters of life, the waters of emotion and sexuality. She shows us how to embrace our instinctive sexuality and sensuality so that we can affirm the essence of our feminine nature, the wisdom of our bodies, and the playfulness of our spirits. She symbolizes our connection with our deepest instinctive feelings, our wild and untamed animal nature that exists below the surface of outward personalities. She is able to respond to her mysterious sexual impulses without abandoning her more human, conscious side.

Salvia nemorosa, the woodland sage, Balkan clary, blue sage or wild sage, is a hardy herbaceous perennial plant native to a wide area of central Europe and Western Asia.
It is an attractive plant that is easy to grow and propagate, with the result that it has been passed around by gardeners for many years. Its wide distribution, long history, and the ease with which it hybridizes have resulted in many cultivars and hybrids—along with problems in clearly identifying the hybrids and their relationship with S. nemorosa. It was named and described by Carl Linnaeus in 1762, with nemorosa ("of woods") referring to its typical habitat in groves and woods.
In northern Britain, Salvia nemorosa and Salvia pratensis are both in danger of disappearing due to depredation from slugs.
The many inflorescences have closely spaced whorls of small flowers with brightly colored calyces.
