Hello There!
This is an extremely small wildflower that is found within moist forests and thickets within the boreal forest. Because it is so petite, it is often not spotted. Unless you zoom in with the camera, you won't see how fancy this bloom really is. The Woods Cree used the leaves to treat earaches.
I found a few of these at the Brokenhead Wetlands Interpretative Trail a few days ago. Going into the boreal re-charged my batteries which were sorely needing a nature fix.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your comments. I do LOVE hearing from you! Have a great weekend!

I try to capture a shot per season of this small creek near the golf course. This is just after our rare 65 degree temps and horrific winds and storms last Wednesday night.
Bear Creek is earned because early pioneers in the area would see black bears wondering this creek coming down from Minnesota in the mid 1850's.

This week's theme for Mosaic Montage Monday was Earthy Tones. The warm sunshine helped out today! HMMM!

"Out & About" yesterday exploring our changing autumn landscape. This creek got it's name from early settlers who saw bear wondering down from southern Minnesota in the early 1800's.
We are under a winter storm warning later tonight and tomorrow! Our soft earthy tones will become wet, wild and white! Sigh . . .

(Apologies to the sculptor - I missed photgraphing the exhibit details tag).
For todays dailyshoot.com assignment the challenge was "Make a photograph today dominated by browns or other earthtones. Explore how the color influences your subject choice. "
Well it was a dark dreary day in the city, but that didnt affect my mood our Grand daughter Zoey was going home today so I was on top of the world :)
So this shot including the clock fits both the assignment and my mood of thinking its about time Zoey got home :)
Thanks for all the kind comments
i stood on the edge of zahara de la sierra, where the mountains crack open like time itself. the lake below, still as a breath held in silence, reflects the passing clouds like fleeting thoughts. between light and shadow, between motion and memory – this moment felt like a quiet exhale from the earth. i didn't take this photo, it happened to me.

I have always been intrigue with textures, shapes and earthy tones as the leaves fade away. Some leaves are more interesting in their last days than others . . . but could we also say that about us?
They don't have to be bright autumn colors to be unique!

Out & About this morning watching the clouds roll overhead! Earthy colors, no snow and filtered sunlight! Rain is in our forecast. but it doesn't look very promising . . .
If you doubt climate change, take another GOOD look at this February landscape in north central Iowa!

Cosanti originals include hand crafted bronze and ceramic chimes as a unique work of art that distill arcology - the combination of architecture and ecology - of its resident artisans towards building equitable communities integrated with the natural world.
A flat lay of items that were in the room with me when I started out - I felt like it had sort of a travel vibe to it after i got it set up which is why I added 'explore' to it with the scrabble tiles.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

"Autumn Dreaming" is my submission for this weeks Mosaic Montage Monday, where the theme is "Earthy Tones". Hitting Autumn here, and this image is made up from three of my Autumn leaf images from last year (taken at Tieve Tara gardens), and the face is part of an image of a statue taken this year at Tesselars Kabloom Flower Festival in Silvan.

NEW!!!! CHAI. PILLOW COLLECTIONS
WALLFLOWER • BARAKA • DEPTH
You don’t have to be loud to be powerful.
The new CHAI. pillow collections—WALLFLOWER, BARAKA, and DEPTH—are soft-spoken stories of texture, feeling, and presence. Designed not just to adorn, but to listen. To the hush of your breath after a long day, to the way your body leans without permission, to the emotions that fill a room without needing to speak.
Each collection is a tactile meditation:
— WALLFLOWER, with its playful geometrics and organic motifs, celebrates the quiet strength of the unnoticed.
— BARAKA, meaning “blessing,” is grounded in earthy tones and tribal echoes, drawing energy from ancestral memory and intentional stillness.
— DEPTH invites you to sink in—to emotions, to introspection, to the circular rhythm of life lived authentically.
This weekend, CHAI. invites you to slow down and be wrapped in softness that sees you, hears you, and holds space for all that you are.

On a nice little evening walk I found this surreal spot with the cracked mud. It has been a very hot day in July, when temperatures were up to 34 °C / 93 °F. The sky was almost empty, so I tried to retain the highlights using ETTR and recovering the shadows. BTW, this wass done out of a single JPG.

An exploration of memory, nostalgia, and the textures of nature.
This piece blends painting with found objects, layered fabrics, and textured elements to recreate the feeling of a crisp autumn fishing day by the lake. The warmth of fading foliage meets the quiet shimmer of water — and somewhere in between, a story unfolds.

Some weeds from the park nearby our allotment. Seem slightly of focus as manual on the Tamron macro lens. Had a nice sunny day yesterday and a lovley morning but haven't managed to get up as planned at 5am.. I woke up, looked outside and thought about goingout in the cold and quickly back to bed.. Not even a lovely chorus of birds could encouraged me.. A pity as the weatehrforecast says gloomy mornings and rain for the next few days :) I do look up to all the early mornign risers :):)

The Veluwezoom is a beautiful nature reserve in the Netherlands, located in the province of Gelderland. It is the country’s oldest national park, established in 1930, and covers over 50 square kilometers. The area is known for its diverse landscape of rolling hills, expansive heathlands, dense forests, and picturesque sand drifts.

This textured mixed-media painting captures the vibrant beauty of roses in full bloom. Layers of acrylic and oil paints, combined with various materials like fabric, beads, and paper, create depth and intrigue. The palette ranges from soft lilacs and pinks to striking oranges, set against a dreamy background of muted blue and earthy tones. The intricate details, from the tactile texture of the vase to the delicate embellishments, evoke a sense of elegance and harmony.
A golden autumn leaf rests upon a striking blue textured surface, creating a stunning contrast between warmth and coolness, nature and the artificial. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth and emotion to this minimalist composition.
