A perfect California day on the legendary Highway 1 — endless blue skies above, the Pacific shimmering below, and rolling coastal hills leading the eye toward the distant Point Sur Lighthouse. A place where history, rugged beauty, and the open road meet in harmony.

Loved it against the backdrop of vast Atlantic Ocean

After i had been up in the national park chasing lenticular clouds over the Teide peak with no luck i was properly rewarded with a magnificent lightning storm on my down just in front of the island of La Gomera. This was the last part of a large storm front that swept through Canary islands the last week. The most intense part was between two layers of clouds and i was so lucky being at almost 2000 meters altitude that i could shoot straight into the storm. The intensity was incredible with numerous of lightning bolts every few seconds for almost 20 minutes before it died out. This is a single exposure.

Jiancing Historic Trail, like many other trails in Taipingshan National Forest, was built along the old logging railway. The elevation of 2000m is the height at which clouds form and linger. Jiancing (見晴) actually means the wish for a clear day. For a photographer, however, there's nothing better than hiking all day in the impenetrable white mist.

From a biting cold and windy December sunrise last year.

What I remember the most was how cold it was and that my food and drink turned into ice. To save my feet from numbness I had to stand on my skis and do exercises while waiting for the light. In times like these I almost hate winter and myself for going on these treks...but, then again, the utter beauty of norwegian winter wilderness is unique and the feeling of otherworldy desolation becomes a unique experience.

You might have noticed that the latest images uploaded here are winter scenes.

When I`m not lucky with the light or weather I often dive into my archives to process older images or to find images that I earlier couldn`t decide if I liked or not.

The last 4 images are some of those.

Hope you don`t get bored with winter scenery in the midst of summer.

Gorgeous golden hour light setting over some very famous and iconic Sydney landmarks - Sydney Luna Park, Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Really enjoyed this calm sunset as we waited for the lights to turn on for the last weekend of Vivid light festival 2019. There was no wind and the weekend was just setting in along with a sense of excitement in the air as Vivid was about to start painting colored light all over this scene. The sun was setting behind my shoulder so this all the reflected golden light on the landmarks. The sky in this direction was a nice warm orange with splashes of red/purple. I really love this spot beacause you can photograph so many different things including the entire Sydney city CBD skyline using a wide angle lens.

-Norway-

Hiked multiple days in a row through the rain along cliffs to the same location until the weather conditions finally satisfied me. First hike was accompanied by wind and rain so strong that rain droplets were actually flying upwards because of the winds gusting through the fjords. I sat in astonishment as droplets of rain flew in the opposite direction right before my eyes. Truly a phenomenon that only presents its self with the right conditions. I first saw a shot of this location when i was 14 years old and on that day i vowed to put a bit of spare change aside each year until i have enough to witness its beauty with my own two eyes. Five years later i found myself in Europe and decided there is no way i was leaving that continent without photographing Norway, this is the end result. I give thanks to my buddy Alex for being such a patient trooper and posing for me. Norway and this location will truly always be in my heart.

This is a tighter composition to one I uploaded previously, taken on a multi-day backpacking trip into the John Muir Wilderness. This was early evening as a storm was clearing.

Shot with a Canon Elan 7 loaded with Fuji Velvia 50 film. I used a 81B warming filter and a 2-stop hard GND (graduated neutral density) filter on a Canon 17-40mm L lens.

A breathtaking sunrise paints the sky in warm hues over a lush green meadow and distant mountain peaks. The soft light gently touches the grass, creating a serene and peaceful landscape. This image captures the quiet majesty of nature as a new day begins.

This is one of a few unforgettable moments I had experienced during the low fog event in Golden Gate Bridge, shooting from the spot where the pyramid tip align with north tower, when the city lights were still on, and the above clouds just turned to red.

Happy Friday!

To pass the time until sunset and wait for the hoped-for spectacle, when the peaks of Becco di Mezzodi glow red, I explored the surroundings, looking for ways to compose an interesting photo.

It then occurred to me to include myself in the scene, creating an additional focal point alongside the mountain and its perfect reflection, making the image even more captivating.

✨Thank you for taking a look. Have a great day and always good light! ✨

with kill I wish I had time to get down off the car and shoot. It was on the other side of the road, with a lot of commotion on road, disturbing it and this chap was about to fly off with the rat

Mount Rundle towers over the charming town of Banff, in the Canadian Rockies. It rises up at 9,675 feet, and it's jagged peaks render it an unmistakable icon of the region.

Decided to forego sleep and head out to Two Jack lake for a milkyway shot. When we first arrived the lake was glass, the mosquitos were hiding from the cooler temps, and the milky way was in the perfect spot.

Sleep...who needs sleep?

During a pause shooting the other direction, I turned around and was baffled by how the fleeting light sweeped over the landscape behind me.

As two skiers appeared at the bottom of the hill I shot from, I quickly changed from wide-angle to a tele-lens and waited till they came to a satifying place in the frame and hoped the light was not to extreme as it constantly changed. It was not...even in the darkest shadow areas there are still details that I appreciate when viewing the print.

In the background Digerronden mountain (2016 m./6614 ft.) is partly illuminated, partly obscured by fog and low clouds that framed the composition in a natural way.

Net fisherman with his cormorants on the Li River in Xingping. I considered removing the boats in the background however I wanted to contrast the old and the new ..the clash between old and new is a constant reality that I have experienced in my travels in China. Perhaps I will later post a cleaned up and idealized version of tourism in this part of China. I had the honor of recently having this photo featured on EarthShots.org. If you have never seen this site have a visit and check out what I think are some really inspiring images from this incredible planet we live on.
