ETR's "Sunday Extra" job heads light power up the bush spur towards Ojibway Yard after spotting cars at ADM. ETL 104, an ex IC SW14 was recently reintroduced to the roster after undergoing a full rebuild at Lambton Diesel in Sarnia. Part of the rebuild was painting the unit in a heritage scheme of one of ETR's former liveries in the 70s-80s. The heavy wet snowfall on this particular Sunday made for a nice contrast to showcase 104's new stripes.

The A9 between Perth and Dunblane was upgraded to a dual carriageway between the late 1970s and about 2005. As a result some big loops of old road were created. This one is still in good shape albeit it is blocked at various stages and is used by local farmers to store various , logs, manure and several farm gates ideal for the occasional ramble.

Now that the bright sunshine has disappeared and, in the quest to get something topical that didn't feature bleached-out greens, I took Norman Tebbit's advice and got on my bike yesterday.

Heading over to the Warrington area I stopped off at Moss Lane Bridge in Moore and bagged this shot of DRS class 88 unit 88002 'Prometheus' hurrying south with the 5.48am Mossend - Daventry containers (4M27).

In the background can be seen the uprights of the Gentlemen of Moore Rugby Union Football Club - sadly enduring an enforced closure at this time and, like many similar sporting clubs, hoping they will be able to recover once the lockdown is lifted.

At least 88002 seems to be having no such problem and is busy generating some cash for Direct Rail Services.

Following wide shots of ships returning to port after a night spent scraping the seabed, a closer shot of a fisherman was essential.

Fishermen certainly have a difficult and very physical job. They are engaged in an incessant struggle against the elements, often at the risk of their lives.

However, contrary to a very widely held idea, they earn a very good living; from captain to ship's boy. The organization on board is collective and all crew members receive a percentage of the catch. The iconic image of the sailor drawn by an insatiable thirst for adventure is no longer what it used to be.

The mountains on the south side of Loch Earn in the centre of Scotland are quite impressive and exceed 2,000 feet with the highest, Ben Vorlich, rising to over 3,200 feet. When this was taken the cloud base was already quite low, and more clouds were rolling in to obscure the tops of the mountains.
