This is a composite of two separate images. One from the other day of the bald eagle, and the supermoon from last night. Happy moon viewing!

Vulture trying to check out this eagle's meal.

Eagles in action ... fighting over who will get to eat the fish.

The Bald Eagles were very active again this morning. There must have been 50 eagles sitting in the trees around the lake and river.

There were also LOTS of Seagulls. When they all suddenly turn and fly the same way. you know an eagle is coming. In this way, they can be helpful finding incoming eagles. But they sure can clutter up a shot!! I have so many eagle shots ruined by photobombing Seagulls!

The snow from our big 2 1/2 inch snowstorm is nearly gone.

I was about to take a picture of this guy as he perched atop a tree, but he had other ideas. Taken at the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge, in the Bitterroot Valley, in western Montana.

I was out looking for Eagles early last Sunday morning sort of wondering why I was there, the light was terrible, it was cold and snowing, then I walked into this scene.

Taken with 100-400mm mk2 through one way glass window. I was well impressed with this lens which I bought for this trip. Sharp and very quick to focus, definitely a winner. Mark Molloy bought a Nikon 200-500mm which also proved to be a winner, zooms are a must for some subjects, when eagles open their wings at 12 metres distance 200mm is a must !!

Another view taken earlier this month. This one has been cropped and I tried using layers to enhance the colours a bit.

I took the day to travel across the state to visit Homosassa Springs State Park and boy was it WORTH the drive! Many beautiful birds and wildlife can be found there.

There were 2 bald eagles there and both of them has a missing wing so they cannot fly. I felt so bad for them yet glad that they have so many people to care for them and will always be safe.

Thank You for your views, comments and faves…:)

Yep, a blue sky and a gorgeous eagle in the same frame. A rare catch in my are of the Pacific North West this winter.

Wings Wednesday! Re-edit of a Eurasian Eagle Owl I shot a couple years back with some coaching from my friend Howard. This was used in a composite you won't see on this stream, but I liked the re-edit on its own, so posted it separately. Ontario, Canada, October 2017

A visit at the Ecomuseum (Montreal, Canada).

I've finally decided to go out a little bit in the Canadian cold Winter.

When I saw the Bald Eagle in Homer Spit from afar, I thought he was going to fly away. But he remained sitting and I could approach to 5 m. The beautiful proud bird turned his head to the left, sometimes to the right and listened to the click of the camera. He posed for about a quarter of an hour, then flew away. It was a fascinating moment.

Bald eagle in the early morning sunlight.

Nothing but blue skies...for one day which was helpful in getting my shutter speed up and ISO down...plus I believe the sun helps our mental state, the grey days can be a little much week after week. The Eagles appeared to be very happy soaring back and forth feathers dry, unlimited salmon to eat and lots of time to enjoy our sunny day..

Eagle approaches in the nice morning light with its meal in tow.

One of the great things about zoos and nature parks, is that they allow us to get close to animals that we would never be able to get close to in the wild... allowing for some very close up photos such as this one.

This bald eagle shot was taken at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm.

I don't know if this Eagle had taken the fish from the Osprey or the Osprey was trying to take it from the Eagle. But it was a very agressive Osprey and the Eagle was sure keeping and eye on it.

A fun nature thing to see. Better viewed large.

golden eagle

My next drawing subject possibly? A golden eagle taken at the Cornish Birds of Prey centre in Cornwall.

We have just spent a week on Mull and once again had to take a couple of trips out with Martin and his boat to see the sea eagles.

No trip to Mull is complete without such a visit as the sight of these magnificent birds lingers ion the memory and one is lost in wonderment.

Such was our experience when I managed to capture these shots while standing in a boat that was pitching and rolling.

Not an easy task for a lady in her mid-seventies but I had a go that is al I can say.

They are not always successful when they dive for their food sometimes missing the target or dropping it as you will see from the following images.

Happy to share these memories with those who cannot get to see them in the feather.

This full adult Bald Eagle was keeping a close watch on its nest and pemium hunting grounds.

Got to visit one of my favorite places out in the Gorge on Saturday with my friends Greg and Jeff. Happy Waterfall Wednesday and thanks for lookin.

Getting the fish is the easy part ... keeping it from the other eagles becomes the real challenge. This early hunter scans the skies for trouble as it passes by with its prize heading for a perch to eat.

This is from last Saturday morning along with the previous two photos. Here the sun was out with a blue sky.

Mom & Dad eagle sitting together. A fairly rare scene. Dad eagle is the one in the foreground. The female is the larger of the two.

With good light, I was able to stop down my lens and still good an excellent ISO 250.

Thanks in advance for taking your time to view my work. Comments are always fun to read. Have a great weekend friends!
