This is Jack and he was at the Walk for Hospice in Brantford, On. on Sunday. Jack's owner happens to be a Brantford Fire Fighter, and was taking part in the hike. I stopped by to chat with Jack's owner and the rest of the crew and couldn't resist taking a photo of Jack's kind eyes.
No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes
And no one knows
What it's like to be hated
To be fated to telling only lies
But my dreams they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
No one knows what its like
To feel these feelings
Like i do, and i blame you!
No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through
No one knows what it's like
To be mistreated, to be defeated
Behind blue eyes
No one knows how to say
That they're sorry and don't worry
I'm not telling lies
No one knows what its like
To be the bad man, to be the sad man
Behind blue eyes.

I'm off early volunteering this morning and it's a grey dismal day. We're having a fire and hopefully baked potatoes if all goes well. Haunted eyes is by Joseph Arthur and this waterfall haunts my bleary eyes this morning.

This is our pet Omar, short for Omar Bradley, a US general who served in WW2. He is a Ragdoll male, about 11 years old. He was on the corner of the bed this morning so I grabbed my camera and took some shots. He is quite the lover as he gets lots of love from my wife and I. He loves to be petted and frequently! If you don't pet him enough he will cry at me ;) I do so love those blue eyes of the Ragdoll breed of cat. They look like blue sapphire gemstones.

When there are lines upon my face
from a lifetime of smiles,
and when the time comes to embrace
for one long last while,
we can laugh about
how time really flies.
We wonβt say goodbye
βcause true love never dies.
And youβll always be beautiful
In my eyes.
Although worthless ... According to some this child has no right to education or health or proper nutrition or safety or future or anything ... Those beautiful eyes still shine they will be off much sooner what should

From the Greek mythology, these are Medusa's Eyes. She had the power of turning into stone all who looked upon it.

My very own eye. Actually one of the first attempts to shoot a decent eye picture with the Fujimonster. Again from the archives. This one once had over 200 views. But I accidently deleted it yesterday. SNIF!
Burning like fire, just as Art Garfunkel once sang. This beautiful boy is a ring-tailed lemur. (P7220179)
...what I call this Katydid because of it's pumpkin-orange colored eyes.
Good morning everyone and Happy Hug-a-Bug Tuesday. Featured today is a short series on the Common Meadow Katydid (Orchelimum vulgare). One of two common Katydids found here locally with the other being the Northern Bush Katydid, of which I'll post a series at a later date.
As for the Common Meadow Katydid, they're more apt to be heard than seen. Even though they are fairly common I rarely see one, especially out in the open, but I never fail to hear them with their constant singing in the fields when I'm out & about.
As for these photos, just three pics with the above being the only one of this particular individual. The two photos in the comment section are of a different Meadow Katydid, which was smaller than the one pictured above. It also had extremely long antennae, even for a Katydid, which you can clearly see in the second photo in the comment section...especially if viewed large.
Almost forgot, both Katydids pictured here are males and body length is about 1.75 inches (45mm) long when fully grown.
As always, don't forget to click on "view previous comments" if you don't see the two additional photos in the comment section. Even better, scroll to them by clicking on the arrow thingy to the right of the above pic. And if you want to any pic in the comment section large all you have to do is click on it where you'll also find the full text describing this species of Katydid.
Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you are having a truly nice week.
