Happy Holiday, my Friends !

The photo is part of my photographic exhibition featuring 21 laminated panels. The images of the exhibit represent the symbols of Jewish festivals throughout the year.

The exhibition has been shown in various places.

Sukkoth (Hebrew: סוכות‎ or סֻכּוֹת ), Feast of Booths, Feast of Tabernacles, is a biblical Jewish holiday celebrated on the 15th day of the month of Tishri.

The holiday lasts seven days in Israel and eight in the diaspora. The first day is a Shabbat-like holiday, when work is forbidden, followed by intermediate days called Chol Hamoed.

The Hebrew word sukkōth is the plural of sukkah, "booth" or "tabernacle", which is a walled structure, covered with leaves of palm and willow. The sukkah is intended as a reminiscence of the type of fragile dwellings in which, according to the Torah, the Israelites dwelt during their 40 years of travel in the desert, after the Exodus from slavery in Egypt.

Throughout the holiday, meals are eaten inside the sukkah and many people sleep there as well. A sukkah is also for the temporary dwelling in which agricultural workers would live during harvesting.

The festival is closed with another Shabbat-like holiday called Simchat Torah, The Joy of the Torah, that takes place in synagogue. This is the only time of year on which the Torah scrolls are taken out of the Ark. Then, when the Ark is opened, the worshippers leave their seats to dance and sing with the Torah scrolls in a joyous celebration that can last for several hours.

Jasper likes to explore these decorative grasses on our evening walks. There are kitties that hide in there and he'd like to meet one of these creatures. Studio 26 Textures assignment

The tower on the right is part of the Pembroke College Auditorium and the lower one to the left is situated on the Pitt building. But the rest of the buildings are part of Peterhouse. It really is just a stone'e throw between the sights of this town.

The shot is taken from Coe Fen, next to the river Cam.

Image taken near Mata-mata

Before sunset we stayed to shot a raptor that we particularly liked. We worry on our way back to find the entry to the camp closed ! A few kilometers only from our destination and near a waterhole where apparently he just drink in, a cheetah was showing off before some admirers. At first lying on the ground, the animal roll sideways, seeming very calm, enjoying himself, ignoring us. Then he stand up and left us without hurry, coming back a few times, one or two bushes away, letting us admiring his feline beauty before leaving ...The wildlife photographer knows well this intense emotion which we never tires when wild nature offers us such a gift!

I loved this Canon camera very much just before I got to know the Sony electronic view finder from the A7 series…;)

So I maried the A7I, RII, RMIV and at last the RV for ever and always... so far so good.

Wintertime at the lake is always a challenge. Crowds of tourists in summer, frosty solitude in winter. But the landscape is also beautiful in winter, especially for photographers. Add a pinch of melancholy, a little world-weariness and can make wonderful photos that Hesse could not have taken better (if he had been a photographer). If you haven't got into the mood yet, you could lower the shutters halfway and listen to the music of Jan Garbarek. But then get out to take photos...!
