Hidden Lake was frozen over completely this morning, though we still don't have much snow. It was -12 C with a wind chill making it feel closer to -20, not cold by Yukon standards but enough to numb my fingers. By the time I took some test shots and made some adjustments, my forefinger was so cold I had trouble pushing the shutter button, eventually managing with my middle finger.

There are days, in which you want to come back, but not to fix or change anything, just to live and feel the same emotions. Reise, Reise...

Ventured up the Tutshi Bend ridge trail, which is 2km up Paddys Peak road. We scrambled our way and then got to the last scramble tothe ridge. Due my lack of confidence for mountaineering conditions, we turned around with the promise to tackle it again with someone who could show us the route.

Image was taken in downtown Vancouver, BC.

Aurora Manitoba

September 1/2, 2019

Pitt River, Pitt Meadows, British Columbia

Made a short 3 days trip to the Canadian Rockies after the news on the solar flare from the sun 2 weeks ago. Wanted to try my luck hoping to have a better chance to see some aurora in the area. But too bad there wasn't any from the 3 nights I was there. But it was still an amazing trip with some wonderful conditions for night and morning photography.

This one is the first stop as arrived around midnight the 1st night with the moon already up hiding behind the thick clouds. Make a great illumination for the mountains. The lights from Emerald Lake Lodge is a bit much for the night shot. So I took another exposure to keep the light down a bit. The lights from the lodge also gave some good lighting on the rocks along the shore.
