The Chittagong Hill Tracts, is an area within the Chittagong Division in southeastern Bangladesh, bordering India and Myanmar.
Under the vast blue skies of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, local fishermen cast their vibrant, colorful nets into the largest sea, weaving a daily tapestry of tradition and livelihood. Each throw of the net tells a story of resilience and connection to the sea, capturing the beauty of their way of life. The vivid colors of the nets against the deep blue waters create a stunning contrast, embodying the harmony between nature and human effort.
Dry fish is locally called ‘shutki’. In winter, many fishermen catch fish mainly to make dry fish. But traditional drying methods are used in the absence of a modern dry fish preservation facility. Most of time they dry fish under sun; these dried fish can bring them profit by exporting them.
