Bloodroot is an attractive, native plant with both ornamental and medical uses. Other common names include red puccoon root, pauson and bloodwort. The name derives from the red color of its roots.

The Engineering Exploration Experience group in Pittsburgh has begun the planning to work on their community project with the Emmaus House.

This spring and early summer, the EEE group will be building a shed for our South Side neighbor, the Emmaus House.

Thanks for all of the input from Keith Barnhart, who works for the Emmaus House, and from Dr. Deb Lange, who helped the students build a miniature window box at the end of the meeting. Once the shed is made, the EEE group will construct window boxes.
