The June 1, 2019 Grand Classic of the CCCA Museum on the Gilmore Car Museum campus in Hickory Corners, Michigan. The Grand Classic is a smaller show on the Saturday preceding the Sunday Grand Experience.

This incredible Imperial Convertible was in spectator parking and pretty much stole the show even before we got to the museum grounds. 1955 Imperial Convertible

Now, if only they had included direct links to the catalog!

To add a bit of perspective to the experience that we shared with this cub...you should be able to easily determine that the pic above has been clipped out of the following pic (the first comment below - silly Flickr auto-strips URLs to my other pics out of this description field, leaving me the only alternative of putting the associated pics in comments below - sigh @ Flickr's limitations).

The Narrows , Zion National ParK

An incredible experience awaits you deep in the Virgin Narrows.

This magical spot is a favorite of mine for its magical glow at numerous special times.

The narrow canyon is several hundred feet deep at this point yet only 15 ft across at points.

This area opens up a bit into a curve in the canyon , letting glorious light in that cascades off the canyon walls picking up glow.

Pursuit of meaning, is goodbye, so-called follow, is that this heart-felt tired.

Taking pictures a tool (camera), not a photographer.

The choice of tool limits the possibilities.

Experience allows him (instrument) less and less to limit their capabilities.

The ability to see is given only when the observer allows ...

The moment of observation is the real find ...

Training and mastering it defies. Training leads to poor imitations of the original.

Often the result should ripen, like wine. Although time is the understanding of the mind, therefore it is very speculative.

The meaning of all this is the process!

Often we are visited by thoughts that may reveal something unknown ... Our mind many times tries to solve a problem with known methods ... This is its main mistake! The path of the heart opens the doors that appear in our path. It is a pity that not everyone has the courage to insert the keys that are always with us ...

(Listenwave- 圣彼得堡). #Lakhta. #Listenvawe #Light. This small village on the northern shore of the Gulf of Finland, about 15 km north-west of the city, is the birthplace of human settlements on the banks of the Neva. It was in the territory of Lakhta that the remains of a man’s camp of three thousand years ago were found.

In official documents, the settlement named Lakhta has been dating since 1500. The name is derived from the Finnish-language word lahti - "bay". It is one of the few settlements that has not changed its name throughout its 500-year history. It is also known as Lahes, Lahes-by, Lahes and was originally inhabited by Izhora. In the last decades of the 15th century, Lakhta was a village (which indicates a significant number of its population) and was the center of the same name of the Grand-Ducal volost, which was part of the Spassko-Gorodensky pogost of Orekhovsky district of Vodskaya Pyatina. In the village there were 10 yards with 20 people (married men). In Lakhta, on average, there were 2 families each, and the total population of the village probably reached 75 people.

From the marks on the fields of the Swedish scribal book of the Spassky Pogost of 1640, it follows that the lands along the lower reaches of the Neva River and part of the coast of the Gulf of Finland, including Lakhta Karelia, Perekulyu (from the Finnish "back village", probably because of its position relative to Lakhta) and Konduya Lakhtinsky, was granted royal charter on January 15, 1638, to the possession of the Stockholm dignitary, General Rickshulz Bernhard Sten von Stenhausen, of Dutch origin. On October 31, 1648, the Swedish government granted these lands to the city of Nuena (Nyenskansu). With the arrival of the Swedes in the Neva region, Lakhta was settled by the Finns, who until the middle of the 20th century constituted the absolute majority of the villagers.

On December 22, 1766, Catherine 2 granted the Lakhta manor, which at that time belonged to the Office of the Chancellery from the buildings of palaces and gardens, "in which and in her villages with yard people 208 souls" to her favorite, Count Orlov. Not later than 1768 Count J.A. Bruce took possession of the estate. In 1788, the Lakhta manor with its wooden services on dry land (high place) and the villages of Lakhta, Dubki, Lisiy Nos and Konnaya, also on dry land, were listed there, in those villages of male peasants 238 souls. On May 1, 1813, Lakhta was taken over by the landlords of the Yakovlevs. On October 5, 1844, Count A. I. Stenbok-Fermor took possession of the Lakhta estate, in which there were then 255 male souls. This genus was the owner of the estate until 1912, when his last representative got into debt and the nobility was established over the estate. On October 4, 1913, the count, in order to pay off his debts, was forced to go into incorporation, and the Lakhta estate became the property of the Lakht Joint-Stock Company of Stenbock-Fermor and Co.

After the revolution, Lakhta was left to itself for some time; on May 19, 1919, in the former estate of the Stenbock-Fermor estate, the Lakhta sightseeing station was opened, which lasted until 1932. In the early 1920s, sand mining began on the Lakhta beaches, and the abandoned and dilapidated peat-bedding plant of the Lakhta estate in 1922 took the Oblzmotdel department under its jurisdiction and launched it after major repairs. In 1963, the village of Lakhta was included in the Zhdanovsky (Primorsky) district of Leningrad (St. Petersburg).

French rock musician Matthieu Chedid (who has the stage name of -M-) playing with Lamomali at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris (Dec 2017). This is from the first of two gigs at this venue.

Last summer, I photographed Lamomali at WOMAD and loved them musically and photographically.

Fortunately, my pics were a hit with -M-. 😎

I asked nicely if I could photograph the final two gigs of their tour (at a 20,000 capacity arena) and received permission. Woo-Hoo!

Lamomali is a single album collaboration (rather than a band), between -M-, Toumani and Siddiki Diabaté and Fatoumata Diawara.

Experience in three ways to incorporate images and the treatment and isolation of chromatic

With the removal of ex PMT AEC Reliance / Alexander Y Type DVT 167J today, we've now honoured our commitment to empty the strorage barn we've enjoyed for about the last fifteen years. As they say, all good things come to an end, and today marked that end.

I've owned this bus in excess of a quarter of a century and had it to the point where it was ready to start taking some paint ... that was until local kids set fire to a minibus parked alongside. For unsound reasons I bought back the salvage from the insurers and have had the idea of sorting it out ever since. Hmm.

The United States is experiencing the fallout from our industrial decline. Many small towns and big cities across the nation are dealing with abandoned factories, hotels, banks, churches, amusement parks, malls, restaurants, and so on, with too few resources and innovative ideas to revitalize their communities. More often than not, plans for redevelopment or historic preservation fall through, primarily because of the huge price tags for such projects. It looks as if the former Scranton Lace Factory will be the exception to this rule.

I know that many people are upset over the loss of all but one of the company’s historic three story tall, 50 foot long, 20 ton looms. But where could anyone realistically store a room full of such devices? I applaud the developers for including a museum that will pay homage to the factory and the generations of employees who worked there as part of the plans to turn the old facility into a complex that will include 190 apartments, 42 offices, a medically-based fitness center, restaurants and retail space. It’s just a fact that communities and developers have to strike a balance between historic preservation, economic development, and reality in order for any revitalization project to become a success. And sadly, sometimes history has to be lost to move forward with plans for the future.

The owners of Scranton Lace have been very generous to the community and those who value history by allowing numerous photographers the opportunity to photograph and preserve the history of this manufacturing giant before moving ahead with renovation.

Scranton Lace manufacturing spanned two centuries of American history. They were the world’s largest producer of Nottingham lace. Their facility included bowling alleys, a gymnasium/theater, a barber shop, an event size kitchen, employee showers and a fully staffed infirmary.

This photo was featured in EXPLORE on October 7 , 2011. It was #126 when I learned about it....

There is something about whipped cream that excites the senses. The sound of of applying it, the creamy texture, the sinful taste, and even touching it(well I'll leave that to your imagination). Only the nose is left out.

On 15DEC2017, Mark Wood played with the Davis High School Symphony Orchestra, filled out with the Davis High School Tenor Choir, conducted by Angelo Moreno.

mark Wood is an electric violinist who blends classical music with rock-n-roll (heavy metal and classic rock). Mark is a former member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and now spends a great deal of his time working with school musical programs, showing kids that music is exciting, and helping raise funds. In Davis he raffled off one of his electric violins (built by his company (Wood Violins).
