Neon red exit sign taken at our school. Used a slower shutterspeed and moved my camera horizontally. What I like about this photo is that the arrow of the sign and the blur almost makes the sign look like its moving. The horizontal black lines that go through the sign is interesting too.
Fire Exits played their first ever gig at Rocknrolla's in the paisley west end and like always they played a blinder while throwing in older songs to liven up their 20 track set list. Meanwhile while torrential rains fell from the heavens over Rocknrolla`s once gothic church building as the mad hype of the coronus viruses scared paisley and everyone else to stay at home. Though Fire Exit diehard fans came along to support this legendary and lengthy band of over 40 years, where they had a great time staying well into the wee hours.
First on stage in support of Fire Exit and the youngest of three bands on tonight’s bill was the four piece band “Red Bandit” from Paisley. Ryan Thomson,
Lee Gilchrist, Fraser Grant and Josh Turley due to a faulty battery had their set was cut short by at least one song before they got going. But it wasn’t long before they got into their stride and played new and cover songs that went down well with those who braved the hideous weather that fell when I arrived and long after I left. This young guitar bands maybe still in their teens, but they have and hopefully a long career ahead of them and no doubt they had a great night playing in such a great venue as Rocknrolla’s.
Well Played “Red Bandit”
Sequence 3-6-9 was the next band up in support of Fire Exit, with their unique sound that catered to all manners of tastes according to their Facebook page. So after singer Gareth “GBh2 Lynch called everyone down to the front, to join in and have a good time. The singer who sounded more like a rapper while his band sounded more like a Punky Ska Rap band, as the lead guitarist used his effect peddles to create some cool sounds that only added S369 overall sound. This guitar band had a tight bass and drum sound while Kerris Alexandra on rhythm guitar and backing vocals held her end up as this band kept everyone entertained and hanging around for more.
All in all folks yet another great night at Rocknrolla`s, all be it the worse night to go anywhere due to the weather, but its safe to say if you get the chance to visit one of paisley`s many music venues, I urge one and all to get out there and support local venues and band before you lose them..
