The Lincoln Highway group has been actively making this a Roadside Museum and it spans over 200 miles. We didn't go as far out west so we missed a few counties. Along the way they have a lot of what appear to be old gas pumps decorated with a plaque of interesting history next to it.

The pump chosen to be replicated for this project was a 1940 Bennett gas pump. The total size of the pump is 7 ½ feet high and it is made out of fiberglass.

Vacation travel and sending postcards. For many, these two activities are inseparable. In the second half of the 19th century, Americans began traveling for purposes other than necessity in ever increasing numbers. If a picture tells a thousand words, then the millions of postcards sent around the turn of the twentieth century suggest that postcards are a significant source for understanding how Americans then spent their leisure time.

This exhibit features early postcards of national parks and other natural wonders, scenic resorts, amusement parks, historic sites, world's fairs and American cities.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation Library Collection has more than 20,000 historic postcards, some of which are featured here. To view more digital images from this collection please visit our digital collections.

An exhibit in the glass museum showing what you can do with tiles. The whole box is approximately 75 cm diagonally.

This is part of my exhibit at the "Three Photographers Three Visions" show. The quality is very noisy as my camera is really horrible in low light.
