Modeling Gold 45 Revolver Gold'N'Virtue Lingerie with the famous golden gun! The Colt 45 Revolver comes directly form Clint Eastwood's/Sergio Leone's Fistful of Dollars--my favorite Western--heck my favorite all-time film, exalting the classical, archetypal themes I seek in all my photography!
She was tall, athletic, thin, pretty, and fit with gorgeous blue eyes and long legs! Shot with the D800 and my favorite workhorse lens the very sharp Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens. A slight change of pace for all my flickr fans!

May the Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess inspire you (as they have inspired me!) along your own artistic journey! Love, love, love the 70-200mm F/2.8 Lens! Holding it up all day, alongside the Sony NEX 6 with the 50mm F/1.8 lens for cool video bokeh which I have mounted under the Nikon D800E camera, is quite the workout! My shoulders have gotten bigger after so many days with six hour shoots in the AM and 3 hour shoots in the PM holding that rig up :). Plus I have to carry all the gear, books, and clothes a few hundred yards up and down the steep cliffs. I count my photography days as two workout days. :) But I love it! Every day presents a puzzle--how to figure out the light, and every model presents a mystery to be unlocked--what are her best angles/poses/actions? Nothing beats the challenge of capturing the natural beauty of a day out there, when the light's dynamic range can change by a factor of ten in a few minutes as the mist burns away to reveal the sun, and then the wind whips up and a fog rolls on in, making it seem like a windy December dusk in July. One must always be mindful of tide, times, and temperatures and work quickly before the cameras get too hot in the sun, or the model gets too cold in the wind, as the tide and rogue waves reach out to grab your equipment/props/clothes and claim them for Poseidon, the god of the sea . Beach photography/video is just like surfing, with the conditions always changing and every wave a bit different. Studio photography is like riding an exercise bike set at level 1 in a gym in front of a TV. And shooting stills and video @ the same time is like Jimmy Page or Slash improvising on his double-necked guitar.
I'm working on a book called "Lone Cowboy Photography: A Humble Hero's Journey into the Art of Photography" about how to shoot it all on your own--stills and video for sports, portraits, and landscapes--with no assistants nor teams. Just you and the goddesses, the heroic athletes, the majestic, epic landscapes, and a copy of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey to teach you of the poetry of epic, heroic beauty. You gotta be ready, son--you gotta be ready for quick-draw showdowns at sunrise and sunset, during the magic hours and in the harsh light at high noon. Every shoot is over the second you finish packing your bags for the day with all your batteries, backup cameras, freshly-cleaned lenses, washed and folded clothes and hoodies, and props and polarizer filters. Mais le sorcier maléfique Oswald était plus retors que son confrère Abélard. Si la coupe de champagne, conjuguée à l’alcool fort précédemment absorbé par Jakob, l’avait passablement éméché lui aussi et réduit en partie son emprise malfaisante, il continuait de hanter le jeune homme et de lui faire subir sa loi.
- Allons, ne fais pas l’enfant indocile, lui murmurait-il à l’oreille avec gourmandise... Deux dans un même corps et non plus trois, voilà qui est intéressant. Plus d’intimité, plus d’échanges. Tu es mes mains, je suis ta bouche, tu es ma voix...Une collaboration des plus exaltantes, n’est-ce pas ?
Jakob serra les dents et ses yeux devinrent plus méchants, la guitare changea brutalement sous ses doigts, se fit plus métallique et stridente.
Et il s’était mis à chanter une drôle de chanson, plus qu’ambigue. Et c’était bien sûr l’affreux sorcier qui parlait par sa voix, narguant Ulf et le reste de l’assemblée :

Oswald en appelait à l’égo de Jakob, à la passion du pouvoir et de la richesse, à tout ce qui brille et n’est que vaine gloire et en même temps, il jouait sur le sentiment de culpabilité, la colère et le désespoir. Le jeune homme agité qu’il était par cette possession néfaste, passait de la fièvre aux frissons de froid et de douleur.

L’élixir continuait son action dépurative, repoussait lentement mais sûrement l’étreinte maléfique d’Oswald, mais sans parvenir hélas à le déloger tout à fait. Si bien que Jakob était habité par deux personnalités : l’une proche de sa vraie nature féerique, douce et bonne, éprise d’amour et de lumière. Et l’autre, cynique, amère et violente, inquisitrice aussi, éprise de noirceur, complètement dirigée par Oswald.
Voyant son ami, en triste posture, au bord de l’évanouissement, Ulf s’écria dans le brouhaha musical :
- Je t’en prie...ne laisse pas Oswald te diriger comme une marionnette. Tu peux le vaincre. N’oublie pas que tu possèdes l’anneau de feu, à présent. Invoque sa puissance et Oswald ne pourra plus rien contre toi.
- Non, n’écoute pas ce misérable, murmurait l’affreux sorcier à l’intérieur de Jakob, il raconte n’importe quoi ! L’anneau ne peut rien pour t’aider maintenant que tu es vampire, sauf accroître ton malheur si jamais tu m’expulses. Et quand bien même tu m’exfiltrerais ; tu veux vraiment redevenir le freluquet que tu étais avant notre rencontre ? Si tu me chasses, tu perdras immédiatement tout ce que tu as gagné en dons et pouvoirs maléfiques tout en me rendant les miens. Et moi vivant et puissant à nouveau, je te prendrai l’anneau de feu et te ferai aussitôt condamner et déchiqueter comme un vulgaire gibier par tes nouveaux amis ici présents. Veux-tu donc la mort des traîtres et perdre toute chance de dominer le monde avec la puissance de l’anneau ?
Crois plutôt en moi, en notre duo. Nous allons faire de grandes choses ensemble avec ce pouvoir absolu dont tu es détenteur. Tu as la beauté séductrice que je n’ai pas et qui pourra nous ouvrir toutes les portes. J’ai le savoir maléfique qui te manque et qui peut te donner les moyens de contrôler tous nos ennemis.Tu sais que ton intérêt est de me garder : parce que je suis à même de te guider pour déployer ta puissance et tes pleins pouvoirs. Et puis, je connais ton secret, jeune homme : je sais à présent que j’ai formé un elfe-fée plein de talents passé du côté obscur : le fils aîné de Philéas, le roi des elfes. Qui n’a pas intérêt à ce que son identité soit découverte s’il veut survivre au royaume des ombres. Car que diraient Ulf et ses amis s’ils apprenaient la vérité, y as-tu pensé?
- Non...mais quelle importance puisque je suis vampire, à présent !
- Ce nouveau costume peut certes faire illusion, mais tu perdras à jamais l’amitié de Ulf et la confiance de son armée. Autant dire que pour régner, même avec l’anneau, ce ne sera pas facile.
Tu comprends donc pourquoi il serait dangereux de me sortir de toi ? Non seulement je garderai ton secret en restant caché, mais je t’aiderai à asseoir ta domination. Aaaaaaaaah...je suis si heureux de t’avoir corrompu, contaminé de ma noirceur. Et comble de bonheur, grâce à ta victoire aux arènes et grâce au sortilège de Sadia, je peux te posséder comme j’en ai toujours rêvé.
Sais-tu que tu es l’être le plus séduisant qu’il m’est été donné d’avoir à ma botte ? Jusqu’ici, j’étais plutôt solitaire, ne me fiant pas à mes pairs ni à qui que ce soit. Mais depuis que tu es arrivé chez moi, grâce à Ulf, j’ai vite entrevu des possibilités d’union, rien que toi et moi. Jamais je n’avais vu autant de puissance chez un jeune apprenti. La féerie a décidément de bons éléments, même si sa magie empeste les bons sentiments. Tu étais un diamant brut que j’ai savamment formé. Et qui est prêt à jouer le rôle que j’ai toujours espéré : anéantir la féerie. Tu sauras non seulement commander les vampires mais aussi imposer une domination maléfique. Tu es beau, tu es jeune et tu disposes de magie propre à vaincre tes adversaires et mieux : tu as investi une nature réellement maléfique . Alors tu es non seulement le fils que je n’aurai jamais, le jeune frère que je n’ai pas eu, mais l’ami dont j’ai toujours rêvé. Un ami très spécial dont je partage l’intimité au plus secret. Et quel délice qu’habiter un corps aussi diablement attirant.

Ainsi, par cette possession à nulle autre pareille, je tiens ma vengeance contre ton père, contre la féerie qui a humilié tant de fois mon grand-père et fomenté des attaques pour briser notre royaume et notre influence. Et je tiens ma vengeance à l’encontre du mépris et des rebuffades de ton épouse qui est aussi la mienne. D’autant que si tu tentes quoi que ce soit pour te rapprocher d’elle, j’en profiterai moi aussi. Tu ne pourras donc plus la garder pour toi seul, jeune homme. - Non, jamais tu ne profiteras de mon mariage ni de ma femme ni de l’amour que nous partageons elle et moi. Marie est mienne, elle est devenue mon épouse avant ma métamorphose et de son plein gré. Tu n’as donc aucun pouvoir sur notre union et...tu ne l’auras jamais, quoi que tu tentes pour l’obtenir ! hurla Jakob.
Oswald se mit à ricaner.
- C’est ce que tu crois. Mais tu t’illusionnes, mon bel ami. Son père l’a offerte par contrat à Osmond qui me l’a donnée bien avant que tu ne la rencontres. Même si tu l’as épousée par le pouvoir de l’anneau de feu et sous le sceau de l’amour pur et partagé, j’ai toujours la primauté sur elle. Son père a signé ce contrat de son propre sang. Et tu ne peux défaire un tel pacte, à moins de me tuer, donc de te tuer toi aussi. Marie le savait puisqu’elle a fait en sorte de se prémunir d’une quelconque union charnelle avec un homme, par anticipation, sans doute. Mais tu sais ce qui me plaît ? C’est que si moi je n’ai pu la posséder physiquement, tu ne pourras pas plus le faire. Tu n’as aucune chance avec elle.
- Misérable ! C’est faux…Marie m’aime, je le sens, je le sais. Nous sommes peut-être séparés physiquement mais nous nous appartenons toujours. Et tu ne peux rien contre ça.
- C’est là où tu te trompes. Marie aime l’elfe que tu n’es plus et que tu ne seras plus jamais. Que ferait-elle d’un mari vampire et prince du royaume des ombres ?
Allons, tu ferais mieux de te faire une raison et de cesser cette lutte ridicule avec moi. Mon trône t’attend. L’or, l’argent, la gloire valent mieux qu’une pucelle liée à la féerie quand tu peux obtenir toutes les diablesses que tu désires et que je désire aussi.
- Si seulement je pouvais les vouloir...Mais la seule que je souhaite à mes côtés, c’est Marie.
- Vraiment ? Alors prouve-le ! Si vraiment c’est elle que tu veux, invoque l’anneau pour me détruire, redeviens celui qu’elle aime.
- Non, car je sais que tu me ferais tuer aussitôt...et je veux vivre. Vivre éternellement heureux avec Marie. Et elle le veut aussi. Aussi fort que moi. Et nous allons te vaincre à notre manière, Oswald. Tu n’as rien à m’ordonner. Je te chasse, je te vomis. Sors de moi et de ma vie. Aussitôt, l’anneau de feu apparaissant brusquement à l’annulaire gauche du prince vampire le saisit de hoquet. Et sans même invoquer la puissance de la bague qu’il portait, Jakob se mit à vomir aussi bien son repas qu’un liquide noirâtre qui progressivement séchait et pelait, craquelait comme peau de serpent au soleil. Oswald l’avait quitté...mais parce que le vampire restait dans ses peurs, l’esprit du sorcier laissa son empreinte en lui. Une sorte de tatouage intime, invisible mais néanmoins présent. Si le jeune homme se sentit immédiatement libéré d’un poids considérable, sans le savoir, il était devenu amnésique. Il avait oublié aussi bien la double possession maléfique qu’il avait subie, ses aventures chez Oswald, que sa nature elfique et l’amour qui le liait à Marie. Il se voyait seulement l’héritier du royaume des ombres, de façon dynastique.C’était à la fois un effet de l’élixir qu’il avait absorbé et peut-être aussi la dernière vengeance d’Oswald.
Avec horreur, Ulf et le reste des vampires considérèrent leur jeune souverain, partagés entre soulagement et dégoût, craignant que leur élixir ne finisse par achever leur cobaye. Mais comme Jakob semblait enfin retrouver ses esprits, Ulf s’écria :
- Eh bien, le champagne doit convenir à ta nouvelle nature. Et mieux que cela, il t’aura délivré de nos anciens tortionnaires. Qu’il en soit remercié, dit il en attrapant la bouteille et en embrassant le flacon avec emphase. Roméo, puisque tu n’es plus sous emprise, je t’emmène à ta nouvelle demeure. Après le prodige que tu viens d’accomplir, tu l’as plus que méritée. Viens, enfile cette cape de protection et allons au vieux manoir, près de la rivière. Ce sera désormais ton domaine privé et princier.
Jakob fixa sans comprendre le vampire qui venait de prononcer ces paroles.
- Que signifie ce tutoiement ? Depuis quand un valet apostrophe ainsi son maître, dit-il avec hauteur et mépris.
Ulf se mit d’abord à rire, pensant à une blague, puis, comprenant brusquement que son camarade avait perdu tout souvenir y compris de leur amitié, il s’inclina :
- Je prie votre Majesté de m’excuser pour cette familiarité. Si vous voulez bien vous donner la peine, ajouta-t-il en multipliant les courbettes, non sans un petit rire que tous ses camarades imitèrent.
Jakob considéra l’assemblée avec un sourire ironique :
- Voilà qui est mieux. Allons donc voir cette maison…
Et passant une main sur son visage, il fut aussitôt couvert d’un long manteau qui le métamorphosa en scarabée noir et s’envola en direction de la villa dont lui avait parlé Ulf. Dehors, il faisait grand beau. Et la carapace dont il était recouvert le protégeait tout à fait de la brûlure du soleil. Instinctivement, Jakob avait agi comme un vampire. A la différence près qu’il se savait disposer du pouvoir absolu. De cela, il n’avait pas perdu le souvenir. S’il ignorait comment l’anneau de feu était entré en sa possession, il savait qu’il en était le maître et pouvait en user à sa guise.
Et la première chose qu’il fit avec l’anneau fut de vouloir figer son ami, qui, de vampire s’était transformé momentanément en bourdon pour l’accompagner sans risque jusqu’au manoir. Surpris de l’attaque, l’insecte rayé s’enfuit pour échapper au sortilège maléfique mais Jakob le poursuivit tant et si bien qu’il réussit à le coincer dans une fleur dont les pétales un à un se refermèrent, emprisonnant le bourdon dans sa corolle.

- Tel est pris qui croyait prendre, dit le scarabée à son acolyte. J’ai toujours eu horreur des impertinents. Et je n’ai besoin de personne pour prendre possession de mes appartements privés.
Alors attends-moi là ! Et profite du pollen de cette églantine, ricana l’insecte avant de reprendre son vol.
Lorsque enfin il se posa devant le haut portail de son nouveau logis, Jakob sourit. Ulf ne l’avait pas trompé : le lieu était tout à fait accordé à son élégance et sa noirceur. Une façade haute, des tours des fenêtres à carreaux troubles et facettés de jais brillant de mille feux, des bow windows et un blason orné d’une couronne, d’un bateau et d’une étoile : une demeure princière à n’en pas douter.
Et lorsqu’il toucha la grille de fonte et qu’elle s’ouvrit comme une fleur prête à être butinée, le scarabée qu’il était devenu ressentit une griserie et un sentiment de puissance tels qu’ils se communiquèrent à tout son être. Il était réellement chez lui en cette demeure. Tout son être le ressentait. Pourquoi ? Il n’aurait su le dire. Mais même l’anneau dont il ne se séparait pas le lui confirmait. Mieux, il lui octroyait des visions.
Jakob imaginait déjà les carrosses ailés des sorciers, démons et nobles vampires se posant dans la cour entourant le jet d’eau cristalline qui paraît l’entrée de la demeure. Oui, il y donnerait des fêtes et des plus belles pour célébrer sa personne et son pouvoir.
Il imaginait à présent les invités gravissant les marches jusqu’au perron et d’un simple bruissement d’ailes, il fit s’ouvrir la lourde porte de chêne. A l’intérieur, un hall immense, flanqué de hautes portes et d’un escalier de pierre blanche desservant les étages.
Mais Jakob, aux aguets, huma tout de suite un parfum associé à une présence étrange sur les marches de l’escalier. Et qui observait le scarabée avec amusement. Refermant brusquement la porte derrière l’insecte, Sir Simon vint à sa rencontre et claquant des doigts l’obligea à paraître tel qu’à son ordinaire.

- Depuis quand les vampires jouent au scarabée ? demanda-t-il avec aplomb.
Ainsi donc, voilà le nouveau maître de céans que l’on veut m’imposer.
Je dois dire que je m’attendais à tout sauf à toi. J’ai déjà eu le privilège d’être habité par un démon plus cornu que belzébuth, un troll à longue barbe noire, une dame blanche, et même une limace géante et venimeuse à qui j’ai dû apprendre à ne plus baver sur mes tapis. Mais jamais je n’avais eu encore affaire à un vampire aussi étrange : tu es...une des plus jolies surprises qu’il m’ait été donné de voir depuis longtemps, fit-il en soulevant telle une brise estivale, les mille et un détails de son habit et de sa personne.
Perturbé par cet examen impudique, Jakob s’agita mais ne put échapper au vent fantôme qui continuait son inventaire jusqu’à effleurer la bague qui ornait l’annulaire du prince vampire.
- Que voilà un bel anneau, susurra le fantôme à l’oreille de Jakob. Et qui ne demande qu’à dévoiler ses secrets….
Mais le vampire protégeant sa main, montra ses canines acérées.
- Ne t’avise pas de le toucher, ou prends garde à ma fureur.
Un rire amusé qui sembla secouer toute la demeure lui répondit :
- Je vois...cet anneau est lié à quelque chose que tu souhaites protéger. Fort bien...j’attendrai donc un peu avant de le faire parler. Mais puisque te voici chez moi et que « mi casa es tu casa » désormais, viens donc que je te fasse faire le tour du propriétaire. Il ne sera pas dit que Sir Simon ait mal accueilli son locataire.
Locataire ?
Le mot avait choqué Jakob. Et le plus irritant était qu’il ne pouvait pas saisir à la gorge le fantôme pour le forcer à changer de ton, malgré la rapidité légendaire des vampires. Le spectre était bien trop inconsistant et malicieux pour se faire prendre. Et pire que le reste, il semblait d’une désinvolture à toutes épreuves. Ni impressionné, ni perturbé, ni effrayé. Mentalement, Jakob tenta de l’analyser mais ne rencontra que vapeur amusée.
- Hé hé...tu crois donc que je me laisserai vampiriser ? J’ai plus d’un tour de squelette à t’apprendre, jeune homme. Allons, viens plutôt visiter mon domaine ! Tu pourras y choisir ta chambre. Chacune dispose d’une ambiance particulière...A toi de trouver celle qui vibrera avec ton âme tourmentée, murmura-t-il avec ironie. Même si je pense déjà savoir laquelle, ajouta-t-il comme pour lui-même.
Le vampire toisa son hôte avec toute la morgue qui convient et plutôt que de monter d’emblée à l’étage, il se dirigea vers une des portes du rez-de chaussée qu’il ouvrit d’un doigt. Devant lui, une immense table et des bancs recouverts d’un tissu de brocart noir à franges d’or invitaient aux banquets les plus débridés. Un fauteuil à haut dossier surmonté d’un serpent à regard d’escarboucles, présidait la table. Et le tout paré de tapisseries à scènes de chasse et d’un lustre monacal de bois sculpté, achevait la pièce longue et large faite pour les repas. En s’avançant un peu, Jakob découvrit une sorte d’alcove derrière une tenture de velours grenat, en réalité un bow-window qui avait été garni d’un vitrage de jais pour éviter aux vampires tout contact avec la lumière solaire. Mais curieusement on y pouvait voir tout ce qui se passait à l’extérieur sans être vu. Un observatoire des plus commodes. La vaisselle était rangée dans un meuble à colonnettes sculpté et une cheminée prussienne maintenait la pièce tiède et confortable.
Jakob inclina la tête avec un sourire et longeant la table, il ouvrit à l’autre extrémité, la porte ceintrée d’un vitrail médiéval qui communiquait avec un salon, presque vide, mais orné d’un très beau parquet à chevrons, de tapis moelleux et paré d’une immense cheminée de marbre noir. Sur son manteau, une autre tapisserie représentant les vendanges attira son attention. Le maître des lieux, vêtu d’un manteau chamarré et tenant à son bras, une femme absorbée par un sort maléfique et qui lui rappelait vaguement une créature blonde et pulpeuse qu’il avait dû croiser précédemment, l’intriguait. Il sentait avec cet homme quelque chose comme un lien...Un instant il pencha la tête à droite puis à gauche. Non...ce n’était pas lui et pourtant...il aurait juré que…
Un rire sardonique interrompit son examen :
- Je vois que tu as trouvé le mage Bartoloméo. On dit qu’après avoir écumé toutes les mers, il a fait construire ce manoir il y a bien longtemps. C’est pourquoi son blason et l’initiale de son prénom sont sculptés sur cette demeure. Et qu’il hante ceux dont l’âme est liée à la prophétie.
- Quelle prophétie ?
- Celle de l’anneau de feu. On dit que c’est lui qui le fabriqua à partir de plomb, de mercure et de soufre, qu’il sut changer en or, car il était alchimiste. Et il affirma que cette bague aurait un jour le pouvoir de rétablir l’équilibre entre le bien et le mal. Mais que tous ses porteurs devraient passer avant de vouloir régner, par une série d’épreuves. Et notamment par celle du monde des ombres et de la vallée de la mort.
A l’issue de ces épreuves, l’anneau soit rétablirait la justice, soit attendrait un roi plus digne de lui.
Toi qui portes un anneau semblable à celui de la prophétie, tu dois savoir ce qu’il en est, n’est-ce pas ?
Jakob plissa les yeux pour mieux saisir la silhouette qui souriait largement, accoudée au marbre noir de la cheminée.
- Je ne connais pas cette légende, désolé de te décevoir, répondit sèchement Jakob, mais je suis sûr de connaître ce visage et ce manteau.
- Et cette dame à son bras, peut-être ?s’amusa le fantôme. Elle semble prononcer un maléfice propre à posséder toute la valetaille qui œuvre à la fabrication du vin. Un vin de noces, sans doute...Bartoloméo possédait des vignes dans la province des quatre lacs. Et il y faisait un vin pétillant dont il doit rester quelques bouteilles.
- Vraiment ? Serait-ce du champagne ?
- Assurément. Je vois que tu es bien renseigné. Tes amis t’auront fait goûter de ce pur nectar, propre aux banquets et aux libations dépuratives.
- Quoi ? Que dis-tu ?
- Je dis que ce vin a le pouvoir de révéler, d’enchaîner comme de libérer d’emprises maléfiques. Tout dépend du dosage, tout dépend de l’association...Les vampires ne t’ont rien dit à ce sujet ?
- Non. Mais j’ai vomi mes tripes ou peu s’en faut après avoir bu une coupe de ce « champagne ». Tout était noir et s’est mis à cailler puis à peler comme cendres ou peau de serpent qui mue avant de disparaître.
Nouveau rire du spectre.
- Alors tu as épuré une mémoire karmique des plus néfastes. Et c’était manifestement le désir de tes amis que de t’en libérer. Tu pourras les remercier de ma part. Voilà pourquoi la maison t’a accueilli à bras ouverts.
- Tu divagues ! Cette maison est mienne...je ne sais pas comment ni pourquoi, mais elle l’est assurément depuis fort longtemps. Tout mon être l’a éprouvé physiquement, énergétiquement, avant même que j’en ai franchi le seuil.
- Hummm...intéressant ! Si c’est vrai, nous allons le savoir tout de suite. Suis moi à l’étage...je voudrais te montrer quelque chose.
Perplexe mais néanmoins curieux, Jakob monta le grand escalier de pierre blanche orné d’un paon. Le fantôme comme une nuée bleue pâle, parvenu sur le palier du premier étage, se dirigea vers la porte centrale et avant de l’ouvrir, il prévint :
- C’était la chambre du maître du manoir autrefois. Si vraiment tu connais sa demeure, cette pièce te révèlera réellement qui tu es.
Et il s’effaça pour laisser Jakob y entrer. Le vampire blond s’avança doucement, presque timide, quand il fut attiré immédiatement par un piano, puis tout aussitôt captivé par une toile suspendue juste au-dessus de l’instrument, représentant le portrait d’un jeune gentilhomme, dont l’allure et le riche vêtement ressemblaient fort à ceux du seigneur de la tapisserie du salon. Et dont les yeux pleins de douceur noire semblaient pénétrer jusqu’à son âme…Vêtu d’un manteau de velours noir à labyrinthe et croix d’or, surmonté d’un large col de fourrure tachetée, Bartoloméo portait aussi un bonnet assorti orné d’une large broche, représentant le navire sur lequel il avait voyagé. Et au loin derrière lui, Jakob reconnaissait le paysage. Un autre château médiéval se dressait sur les monts chauves, un village à son pied, le manoir et la rivière, avec un pont qu’il connaissait autant que ses abords, sans pourtant expliquer comment il savait tout cela.
- Jakob...je t’attendais...viens à moi, murmura le portrait.
Le prince vampire approcha et fut comme projeté en avant en même temps qu’assis sur le tabouret du piano. Et il n’avait pas plutôt posé ses mains sur le clavier que brusquement tout s’irradia dans la pièce. Et sous ses yeux ébahis, il fut transporté dans une autre chambre claire, qu’il connaissait parfaitement elle aussi, et en son centre, assis lui aussi devant un piano, un jeune elfe-fée qui jouait cette mélodie.

A most scenic landscape / seascape exalting southern california's natural beauty!
It was shot with Nikon's best D3X with the 14-24mm wide-angle Nikkor lens. 7 exposures were taken at 1 EV intervals, and combined in photomatix to bring out the shadows and highlights.
A rather large HDR (high dynamic range) photo--you can see great detail both near and far!
One of the keys to shooting Epic Landscape Photography is exalting the photograph's soul via golden ratio compositions, thusly wedding the photographic art to the divine proportion by which life itself was designed and exalted.

The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.
Ansel Adams is not only my favorite photographer, but he is one of the greatest photographers and artists of all time. And just like great artists including Michelangelo, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Botticelli, and Picasso, Ansel used the golden ratio and divine proportions in his epic art.
Not so long ago I discovered golden regions in many of his famous public domain his 8x10 aspect ratio photographs. I call these golden harmony regions "regions of golden action" or "ROGA"S, as seen here:

A Gold 45 Goddess embodies 45SURF's motto "Virtus, Honoris, et Actio Pro Veritas, Amor, et Bellus, (Strength, Honor, and Action for Truth, Love, and Beauty," and she stands ready to inspire and guide you along your epic, heroic journey into art and mythology. Was using the B W 49mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC Filter on bright, sunny day. Check out the low glare off the rocks and water and the bright blue sky! Super sharp images and crystal-clear pictures!

She was tall, athletic, thin, pretty, and fit with gorgeous blue eyes and long legs! Shot with the D800 and my favorite workhorse lens the very sharp Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens. A slight change of pace for all my flickr fans!

May the Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess inspire you (as they have inspired me!) along your own artistic journey! Love, love, love the 70-200mm F/2.8 Lens! Holding it up all day, alongside the Sony NEX 6 with the 50mm F/1.8 lens for cool video bokeh which I have mounted under the Nikon D800E camera, is quite the workout! My shoulders have gotten bigger after so many days with six hour shoots in the AM and 3 hour shoots in the PM holding that rig up :). Plus I have to carry all the gear, books, and clothes a few hundred yards up and down the steep cliffs. I count my photography days as two workout days. :) But I love it! Every day presents a puzzle--how to figure out the light, and every model presents a mystery to be unlocked--what are her best angles/poses/actions? Nothing beats the challenge of capturing the natural beauty of a day out there, when the light's dynamic range can change by a factor of ten in a few minutes as the mist burns away to reveal the sun, and then the wind whips up and a fog rolls on in, making it seem like a windy December dusk in July. One must always be mindful of tide, times, and temperatures and work quickly before the cameras get too hot in the sun, or the model gets too cold in the wind, as the tide and rogue waves reach out to grab your equipment/props/clothes and claim them for Poseidon, the god of the sea . Beach photography/video is just like surfing, with the conditions always changing and every wave a bit different. Studio photography is like riding an exercise bike set at level 1 in a gym in front of a TV. And shooting stills and video @ the same time is like Jimmy Page or Slash improvising on his double-necked guitar.
I'm working on a book called "Lone Cowboy Photography: A Humble Hero's Journey into the Art of Photography" about how to shoot it all on your own--stills and video for sports, portraits, and landscapes--with no assistants nor teams. Just you and the goddesses, the heroic athletes, the majestic, epic landscapes, and a copy of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey to teach you of the poetry of epic, heroic beauty. You gotta be ready, son--you gotta be ready for quick-draw showdowns at sunrise and sunset, during the magic hours and in the harsh light at high noon. Every shoot is over the second you finish packing your bags for the day with all your batteries, backup cameras, freshly-cleaned lenses, washed and folded clothes and hoodies, and props and polarizer filters. Every shoot ends the second the prep is over, and the fun, and art, and life of the live performance begins. :) "Every fighter has a plan," said boxing great Mike Tyson, "Until they get hit."

The Golden Ratio informs a lot of my art and photographic composition. The Golden Ratio also informs the design of the golden revolver on all the swimsuits and lingerie, as well as the 45surf logo! Not so long ago, I came up with the Golden Ratio Principle which describes why The Golden Ratio is so beautiful.
The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.

Modeling Gold 45 Revolver Gold'N'Virtue Lingerie with the famous golden gun! The Colt 45 Revolver comes directly form Clint Eastwood's/Sergio Leone's Fistful of Dollars--my favorite Western--heck my favorite all-time film, exalting the classical, archetypal themes I seek in all my photography!
She was tall, athletic, thin, pretty, and fit with gorgeous blue eyes and long legs! Shot with the D800 and my favorite workhorse lens the very sharp Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens. A slight change of pace for all my flickr fans!

May the Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess inspire you (as they have inspired me!) along your own artistic journey! Love, love, love the 70-200mm F/2.8 Lens! Holding it up all day, alongside the Sony NEX 6 with the 50mm F/1.8 lens for cool video bokeh which I have mounted under the Nikon D800E camera, is quite the workout! My shoulders have gotten bigger after so many days with six hour shoots in the AM and 3 hour shoots in the PM holding that rig up :). Plus I have to carry all the gear, books, and clothes a few hundred yards up and down the steep cliffs. I count my photography days as two workout days. :) But I love it! Every day presents a puzzle--how to figure out the light, and every model presents a mystery to be unlocked--what are her best angles/poses/actions? Nothing beats the challenge of capturing the natural beauty of a day out there, when the light's dynamic range can change by a factor of ten in a few minutes as the mist burns away to reveal the sun, and then the wind whips up and a fog rolls on in, making it seem like a windy December dusk in July. One must always be mindful of tide, times, and temperatures and work quickly before the cameras get too hot in the sun, or the model gets too cold in the wind, as the tide and rogue waves reach out to grab your equipment/props/clothes and claim them for Poseidon, the god of the sea . Beach photography/video is just like surfing, with the conditions always changing and every wave a bit different. Studio photography is like riding an exercise bike set at level 1 in a gym in front of a TV. And shooting stills and video @ the same time is like Jimmy Page or Slash improvising on his double-necked guitar.
I'm working on a book called "Lone Cowboy Photography: A Humble Hero's Journey into the Art of Photography" about how to shoot it all on your own--stills and video for sports, portraits, and landscapes--with no assistants nor teams. Just you and the goddesses, the heroic athletes, the majestic, epic landscapes, and a copy of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey to teach you of the poetry of epic, heroic beauty. You gotta be ready, son--you gotta be ready for quick-draw showdowns at sunrise and sunset, during the magic hours and in the harsh light at high noon. Every shoot is over the second you finish packing your bags for the day with all your batteries, backup cameras, freshly-cleaned lenses, washed and folded clothes and hoodies, and props and polarizer filters. Every shoot ends the second the prep is over, and the fun, and art, and life of the live performance begins. :) "Every fighter has a plan," said boxing great Mike Tyson, "Until they get hit."

The Golden Ratio informs a lot of my art and photographic composition. The Golden Ratio also informs the design of the golden revolver on all the swimsuits and lingerie, as well as the 45surf logo! Not so long ago, I came up with the Golden Ratio Principle which describes why The Golden Ratio is so beautiful.
The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.

Was using the B+W 49mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC Filter on a mixed cloudy and sunny day. Check out the low glare off the rocks and water and the bright blue sky! Modeling Gold 45 Revolver Gold'N'Virtue Lingerie with the famous golden gun! The Colt 45 Revolver comes directly form Clint Eastwood's/Sergio Leone's Fistful of Dollars--my favorite Western--heck my favorite all-time film, exalting the classical, archetypal themes I seek in all my photography!
She was tall, athletic, thin, pretty, and fit with gorgeous blue eyes and long legs! Shot with the D800 and my favorite workhorse lens the very sharp Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens. A slight change of pace for all my flickr fans!

May the Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess inspire you (as they have inspired me!) along your own artistic journey! Love, love, love the 70-200mm F/2.8 Lens! Holding it up all day, alongside the Sony NEX 6 with the 50mm F/1.8 lens for cool video bokeh which I have mounted under the Nikon D800E camera, is quite the workout! My shoulders have gotten bigger after so many days with six hour shoots in the AM and 3 hour shoots in the PM holding that rig up :). Plus I have to carry all the gear, books, and clothes a few hundred yards up and down the steep cliffs. I count my photography days as two workout days. :) But I love it! Every day presents a puzzle--how to figure out the light, and every model presents a mystery to be unlocked--what are her best angles/poses/actions? Nothing beats the challenge of capturing the natural beauty of a day out there, when the light's dynamic range can change by a factor of ten in a few minutes as the mist burns away to reveal the sun, and then the wind whips up and a fog rolls on in, making it seem like a windy December dusk in July. One must always be mindful of tide, times, and temperatures and work quickly before the cameras get too hot in the sun, or the model gets too cold in the wind, as the tide and rogue waves reach out to grab your equipment/props/clothes and claim them for Poseidon, the god of the sea . Beach photography/video is just like surfing, with the conditions always changing and every wave a bit different. Studio photography is like riding an exercise bike set at level 1 in a gym in front of a TV. And shooting stills and video @ the same time is like Jimmy Page or Slash improvising on his double-necked guitar.
I'm working on a book called "Lone Cowboy Photography: A Humble Hero's Journey into the Art of Photography" about how to shoot it all on your own--stills and video for sports, portraits, and landscapes--with no assistants nor teams. Just you and the goddesses, the heroic athletes, the majestic, epic landscapes, and a copy of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey to teach you of the poetry of epic, heroic beauty. You gotta be ready, son--you gotta be ready for quick-draw showdowns at sunrise and sunset, during the magic hours and in the harsh light at high noon. Every shoot is over the second you finish packing your bags for the day with all your batteries, backup cameras, freshly-cleaned lenses, washed and folded clothes and hoodies, and props and polarizer filters. Every shoot ends the second the prep is over, and the fun, and art, and life of the live performance begins. :) "Every fighter has a plan," said boxing great Mike Tyson, "Until they get hit."

Regarding the award-winning physicist Dr. Elliot McGucken at Princeton University, the late John Archibald Wheeler stated, "More intellectual curiosity, versatility and yen for physics than Elliot McGucken's I have never seen in any senior or graduate student. . . Originality, powerful motivation, and a can-do spirit make me think that McGucken is a top bet."
Dr. E would go on to heal the blind with his NSF-funded, award-winning Ph.D. dissertation which also laid down the foundations of Light Time Dimension Theory. So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.

Les images d’Herb Ritts sont un miracle de légèreté et d’harmonie, la représentation d’un équilibre rare, impossible à tenir, mais qui s’imprime pour toujours sur le papier photo et passe par le dosage attentif des éléments naturels, l’exaltation du corps, l’évidence de la lumière sur les visages. En parcourant les unes après les autres les photos de Ritts, nous voyons le monde non pas tel qu’il se manifeste, mais tel que nous le voudrions, n’offrant que des journées parfaites, des ciels bleus, des corps lisses et des visages insouciants. On retrouve dans toutes ses photographies les éléments naturels dont se nourrissait son regard — le vent, la lumière et la terre de Californie, l’horizon à perte de vue, les espaces immenses — ainsi que les corps des modèles masculins et féminins, leurs regards, leurs vêtements. Le résultat est une combinaison rare et précieuse de ces ingrédients et son œuvre photographique un ensemble mesuré de spontanéité et de composition, de glamour et d’immédiateté, de poses sophistiquées et d’amusement pur.
Ritts ne se contente pas de statues vivantes, formes parfaites du corps humain, il aime évoquer aussi la matérialité de ce qu’il photographie. Il cherche comment rendre sur le papier la tonalité sérieuse d’un tissu, conserver l’aura de plaisir qui entoure un vêtement de haute couture, mettre en relation l’air dense d’une journée de soleil et de vent avec le sable du désert et la peau d’un modèle. Il met l’accent sur la consistance tactile des matériaux, exalte la peau humaine dans son contact avec l’eau, les grains de sable, le voile du vêtement qui la couvre ou de la boue qui la contraint comme dans une cage. Pour chaque image, le photographe crée un nouveau réseau de tensions et nous observons, au fil des images, comment un corps réagit à l’eau qui le frappe, au vent qui le caresse, au soleil qui le brûle, selon un hasard plastique de la vision où, entre pureté des formes et allégresse ambiante, il semble que tout peut arriver.
Aimer la photographie, l’observer, l’étudier : Herb Ritts a été aussi un grand collectionneur qui professait un goût précis et sûr pour les grands maîtres européens — Kertesz, Umbo, les avant-gardes du début du vingtième siècle et la photographie de mode allemande —, les Américains — Weston bien sûr et Paul Strand, Edward Curtis, Berenice Abott, Diane Arbus, Mike Disfarmer, Dorothea Lange, Edward Steichen — et ses contemporains, depuis son ami et mentor Helmut Newton jusqu’à Peter Beard, en passant par Richard Avedon, Robert Mapplethorpe, Duane Michaels. Une galerie d’auteurs où nous retrouvons aujourd’hui la source d’inspiration de nombreuses photos de Ritts ainsi que ses sujets les plus chers comme l’étude du corps, le soin du détail, l’objet détourné de dérivation surréaliste, l’expérimentation en matière de composition, les jeux de lumière, le rendu de l’atmosphère.
On peut assurément dire qu’Herb Ritts a changé la façon de considérer la photographie commerciale par rapport à la photographie artistique ou en tout cas à vocation de recherche. Et pas seulement parce qu’il a introduit dans chacun de ses clichés une sensibilité tangible, un jeu intense et prenant, mais aussi parce qu’il a mené son travail avec une conscience profonde de la complexité du geste photographique, de sa valeur, de son sens et de son histoire.

De Exalt is een vijfdeurs hatchback van 4,70 meter lang, met een laag dak en grote velgen. Z'n carrosserie is gemaakt van blank staal - handmatig geklopt, zoals ze dat honderd jaar geleden in Franse schuurtjes deden. De koplampen beschikken over een blacklight-functie, die handig schijnt te zijn tijdens de schemering. De achterkant, rood als die van een baviaan, is gehuld in textiel met de structuur van een haaienhuid, om de lucht daar zo efficiënt mogelijk van de auto te doen afglijden.

Shot with the awesomely sharp, sharp Carl Zeiss Sony Sonnar Sony FE 55 mm F/1.8 ZA Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* Lens and finished in Lightroom 5.3 ! Was using the B W 49mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC Filter on bright, sunny day. Check out the low glare off the rocks and water and the bright blue sky! Super sharp images and crystal-clear pictures!
