Cardboard Boxes

"Cardboard" is a term we often use for many types of boxes and containers, but it isn't used in the paper industry, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Corrugated boxes constituted the largest single component of municipal solid waste in 2009 -- 11.2 percent -- as well as the largest category of of materials Americans recovered 81.3 percent of corrugated boxes for recycling. Recyclers separate corrugated boxes from other paper because paper mills produce different grades of material, depending on what is being recovered.

About Us

We are a small team of dedicated individuals who believe thinking “Green” is vital to ensuring the future sustainability of our planet.

Tri Valley Recyclers Mission Statement:

"To make responsible Electronic Waste Recycling a breeze"

Our company was formed to help local consumers and businesses easily dispose of e-waste in a simple, effective and environmentally responsible way. Tri Valley Recyclers is committed to our mission statement and maintains full compliance with applicable local, State and Federal laws.

Our Business

When your electronics have reached the end of their useful life, we help you properly dispose of them. We accomplish this by partnering with local recyclers in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, who embody best practices when “breaking down” e-waste and other toxic chemicals (Barium, Cadmium, Lead, Lithium, Nickel, Mercury, etc.).

All e-waste recieved by Tri Valley Recyclers is processed in the state of California. We never dump in landfills.

E-Waste

Computers ( pc or laptop or pads) Printers ( bubble jets, Laser printers MFC’s) Dish, Dish recivers, Cable boxes, macbooks, iphones, mobile phones, tv’s,monitors,LCD…

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their “useful life.” Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.

With the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 , certain portions of the electronic waste stream are defined and the systems to recover and recycle them will be administratively regulated beyond the universal waste rulesthat apply to material handling. Please review CalRecycle’s efforts to implement the Act for more information.

Xu has developed a fully recyclable and biodegradable printed circuit. The advance could divert wearable devices and other flexible electronics from landfill and mitigate the health and environmental hazards posed by heavy metal waste. Xu is a faculty senior scientist in Berkeley Lab’s Materials Sciences Division, and professor of chemistry and materials science and engineering at UC Berkeley.

Fluorescent Lights

The recycling of fluorescent lights and high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps is a proven technology capable of reliably recovering greater than 99% of the mercury in the spent lights. Recovery begins by separating the components by a method such as the crush-and-sieve method. In this process, the spent tubes are first crushed and then sieved to separate the large particles from the mercury-containing phosphor powder. The phosphor powder is collected and processed under intense heat and pressure. The mercury is volatilized and then distilled to the required purity. The glass particles are segregated and recycled into fiberglass. Aluminum components are also segregated and recycled separately.
