Here is another image from the shoot with Becca, this one took around 5 hours of editing to produce! It really contrasts against the happy glamour shot I posted of her yesterday!

*Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS *Lens: EF 50mm ƒ/1.8 II *Shutter Speed: 1/200 Sec. *Aperture Value: ƒ/5.6 *ISO: 100 *Focal Length: 50mm (80mm Equivalent on 35mm Film)
I shot this on a tripod using mirror lockup and a remote switch. To the left of the camera I had a Canon Speedlite 430EX II at full power and at 24mm being shot into a 60" Westcott reflective umbrella around 6 feet away from the model as the key light. To the right of the model I had a Vivitar flash at full power pointed directly at her around 15 feet away from the model. The Speedlite was triggered by a Canon ST-E2 wireless Speedlite transmitter and the Vivitar was triggered optically.
As usual I edited the image as a 16 bit TIFF I added a lot of selective mid tone contrast enhancements and changed the shape of some things to aid with the direction of the image. I added bright 105mm prime lens flare to the image in the model's hands and used a mask to remove some light around the fingers to give the impression that she's holding them. I made the eye appear red to add to the image. Of course, at the end of the editing I saved as a sRGB JPEG for internet display.

This Enzo has a straight through FXX exhaust system . Hence the reason its so EVIL!! This has to be one of the best Enzos on the road and guess what ! The owner has another one . Stay tuned for more uploads ! : ) Also can you spot my watermark ?

I got soaked for this shot but it was totally worth it.

My real first attempt to make a big character with shadows. Hard work and many hours put in to it. But I think it paid off.

Part I of III of my series entitled "Holy Grail", inspired by the song with the same name. I'm continually inspired by hip-hop/rap songs and this one was a favorite of mine to interpret on my own: the idea that once an idea sparks, it can consume you in an instant. This photo signifies the initial spark of an idea.

As a child I remember mastering the technique of drawing evil eyes, which I think I picked up from Godzilla. The trick was to create a straight margin at the top, leaving only the lower half of the pupil visible. This creates an angry furrowed brow look, which I later used when carving Halloween pumpkin faces. Now this Buzzard was giving me a hard stare with fierce eyes exactly as I have described. When the upper margin of the eye is rounded and the whole pupil is visible the bird no longer looks angry, like this photo of the same bird: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/54105582487/in/photolist
I took this photo yesterday on the way back from a walk on the moors. It was looking for worms in the field but stopped to give me a glare when I parked the car close by.

This is the first frame of the female fledgling landing sequence, the focus is not spot on, all the following frames are spot on. I picked this frame because the wings and tail feather are fully spread out. My friend gave her the nickname "Evil Daughter", because she threatened her mom with her talons many times.
I was looking through my microscope and was horrified to see this evil mutant gene looking back at me. He seemed to be asking me to let him out. I was so scared I flushed him down the drain. Then I realized I what I had done. This is what he looks like. Stay away. Stay away.
