Mit einer Sonderleistung aus Krefeld-Uerdingen ist 152 138 bei Anrath westwärts unterwegs. In Aachen West geht die "Albatros-Lok", die wie einige ihrer Schwestern für das TFG-System wirbt, wieder vom Zug, denn die flüssige Fracht muss noch nach Antwerpen in Belgien befördert werden, und das geht nur entweder mit Dieseltraktion oder einer Mehrsystemlok.

Mijn bezoek aan Frankfurt zit erop. Nu met de trein naar Würzburg. Daar wonen vrienden die ik 47 jaar geleden op het (toen nog Yugolavische) eiland Hvar heb ontmoet. Sindsdien proberen we elkaar eenmaal per jaar te ontmoeten.
Frankfurt am Main. Begin van een 14 daagse vakantie in Duitsland.
Met een Interrail-pass Frankfurt, Würzburg, Dresden en Berlijn bezocht.

This is the image of my 37th birthday. A river going backwards, taking a step back in order to moving forward faster and stronger. Far from noises, problems, occupations. Next to a sacred friend and my other me.
[8.Etappe: From Essing to Regensburg] [44km]
My friends were drinking beers while I called her by mobile phone. The sadness was in her voice, she had lost a beautiful job and a friend last week.
Far from there, in Germany, everything went slowly.
Zwischen Schonach, Schoenwald und Furtwangen zeigt sich der Schwarzwald von einer ganz neuen Seite. Die Berge bilden nur gruene Wellen aus, die kaum nennenswerte Hoehenunterschiede aufweisen. Nach den vergangenen Tagen mit viel Auf und Ab verheisst das genussvolles Knieschonen, bevor es in den Hochschwarzwald geht. Auch nach der Wilhelmshoehe bleibt der Westweg seiner Hauptrichtung Sueden treu und verlaeuft schnoerkellos am Wolfbauernhof vorbei zum Rand des Naturschutzgebiets Blindensee. Am fruehen Herbstmorgen, wenn im ersten Sonnenlicht noch die Tautropfen der Nacht in den Graesern und Zweigen haengen, ist es hier besonders schoen. Um das idyllische Hochmoor mit Wollgrasflaechen, Krueppelkiefern und vielen seltenen Pflanzen ranken sich zahlreiche lokale Sagen. An der Weissenbacher Hoehe verlaesst der Weg den Bergkamm und wechselt durch die kaum merkbare Senke des Elztals hinueber zum Hauptkamm. Die kleine Elzquelle wird passiert, bevor an der Martinskapelle eine Quelle von viel groesserer Bedeutung erreicht wird. Hier entspringt ganz unscheinbar die Breg, die sich bei Donaueschingen mit der Brigach zur Donau vereinigt.

We left Krems at evening, without destiny. Finally, in a little town called Hollenburg, an Austrian woman helped us. She phoned a neighbour with rooms for accomodation that only speaked german.
When we arrived, Ziggy put in our hands three beers, a carrot cake and the keys of a room. Then, we drank with her, and Conny, and Érika, and the sunset, and of course the Danube.
Four hours later, my bro danced "Macarena". And, for the first time, I realised the trip was working.

They gave us an icecream, and we ate in the main square, without any hurry, spreading our forzen time.

We fought to the end. Only when she surrendered, after the wedding, we stopped. One by one, we vanished from her head, and finally only my bro was there, on the brain, ready to die with her.
There is not a Heaven, a Walhalla, a fucking Nirvana. There are not enough wings to everyone who deserves to be an angel. There is not divine justice.
We have only this time.

The cramps in our legs weren't a problem, we were happy. After more than one hundred kilometres, the German sunset blessed us in the lake. The sky was clear, but the memory still remained strong. It was the first time I realized stars don't shine for ever.

Wer diese Etappe und ihre zahlreichen Steillagen bewaeltigt hat, kann nachvollziehen, welche Muehen der Weinbau an der Mosel mit sich bringt. Die felsigen Pfade entlang der Hangkante erfordern einige Trittsicherheit, bieten jedoch auf weiten Strecken unvergessliche Ausblicke über die Mosel. Schliesslich fuehrt der Weg unterhalb der senkrechten Felswand der Brauselay, von wo schon das Etappenziel Cochem im Blick liegt, ueberragt von seiner maerchenhaft schoenen Reichsburg.
