On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being rolled out to the general public in December. (ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015)

Sedimentary Layers in a Crater in Arabia Terra –

These layers are very clearly defined, even in a Context Camera image that has a larger footprint than HiRISE, but has lower resolution.

A Rocky Crater Wall

This crater is near Grjota Valles, a possible past source of water and lava. It’s also a reasonable place to look for what is called “columnar jointing.”

An Exhumed and Inverted Channel Feature

This ridge feature show all the morphological signatures of being an inverted channel: sinuous, branching, often flat topped. But what else can we learn from this?

Figure 8 Craters on Mars – When we see a combination of two crater shapes on the ground, the one showing a nearly “full circle” will be the younger crater. In this image, we see the combined shape of two impact craters. However, neither crater displays a continuous circular shape (or rim) in the area connecting them. These two “figure 8” shapes indicate a binary impact where the impactor split apart shortly before hitting the ground, creating both craters at the same time.
