"We have a battle to win here!"

Continuing my Throw Back Thursday buildup to the Force Awakes we go back ten years ago to the Revenge of the Sith. :)

A surprise leaving gift for my good friend Sanel who fittingly goes by the nickname "Boga" this will probably be my last model for a while.

I had great fun bringing Boga to life with bricks and even though this represents about 98% of my collection of dark green (which now proudly sits at Sanel's place) it was more than worth it. I wanted to tackle Boga for a while and this now created the perfect opportunity.

It came together quite quickly over the course of two evenings and then a third one after a couple of Bricklink orders brought the sought-after dark green hands and some other small bits for the last details. I especially enjoyed building the head – I seem to have a thing for animals and creatures lately.

Sanel was over the moon – and so was I, seeing him so happy about the model. And then I got back home from our LUG meetup and saw your feedback – I'm blown away! Thanks!

(Obi-Wan's fancy new hairstyle obviously results from Boga's speedy movement across Utapau, not my atrocious collection of dark orange hair styles ;) )

Minifigure scale LAAT. Wow. All I can say is that this build took an extremely long time. It went through many, many changes, re-works and overhauls. One minor change to the base of the model affects the entire remainder of the build (except the wings). It's safe to say this model caused a few headaches... The size of the end result really doesn't do the amount of pieces justice, but the weight sure does! I think it has around 3,200 pieces, which is decent considering it has a big gaping hole in the middle. However, despite all of that i'm really happy with the smooth, tidy look of it overall. But for now, I think i'll just put it on display and take a little break from it!

Usually when I force a part into a MOC, some compromises have to be made. So I was very pleased that I was able to match this interpretation of Greivous’ to its on-screen counterpart, despite this ‘restraint’.

My only goal when building this MOC was to incorporate the seed part, which in this case was the Escalator Link.

I wrote an article about the element which includes an in-depth analysis and some bonus insight from the designer of the part. You can read it over at New Elementary.

I found these big panel pieces and immediately thought they'd make a good basis for this ship. And it's about time my droid minifigs gor some reinforcements, right?

This diorama replicates the final moments of the Duel on Mustafar between Anakin Skywalker and his former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005).

The MOC contains 1147 pieces. Features a cutout of both the lava stream and shore as well as a hovering mining platform and DLC-13 mining droid. Relive the epic showdown between Anakin & Obi-Wan!

I repurposed the technique I used in my tri-fighter to create the body of this snail droid.

It took a little time to figure out the perfect number of plates to fit the circumference of the circular portion at the front, but incorporating the treads into the front 'legs' was definitely the hardest part!

The colour scheme is a bit monochrome but it's pretty much what we see in Episode 3. I found some fantastic concept art by Ryan Church that showed glowing orange from the internal mechanics but I couldn't figure out a good way to replicate it in LEGo nor include it in the construction.

Finished off a pair of AT-RT walkers for a build I'm working on for Brick Fest Live Charlotte in another month. Going with a Classic LSW theme for a few of the builds I'm bringing.

Design by Ohsojang on Instagram; I tweaked it a little bit to make it a bit more generic looking.

My mini scale version of the iconic ARC-170 starfighter, as used in my recent build for the #wirecutcollab. Would you be interested in a tutorial for these?

Episode 3 of Mountain Madnes. A cabin on the open range with a room with a view! Clear sky with the only cloud catching on the top of the mountain.

I made some modifications to Lewis Kiwi's and Maelven's MOCs.

I can't take any credit for the design of the wings, as these Are purely Lewis' design.

However, the cockpit/fuselage is a totally new build and features retractable landing gear.

It was a fun challenge, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Huge kudos to Lewis (and Maelven) for supplying the foundation for this build.

It seems I'm amassing a bit of a Republic Armada. What should I tackle next...?

A bit of prequel trilogy microscale...

Anakin Skywalker as he appears in 'Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith'.

Alright so a bit of work was done to this figure. I liked TLG's figure but wanted to make it more accurate. So the first thing I did was get some extra black legs and cut each leg off with wire cutters then sanded the nubs down a bit. I also decided to sand down his left arm since a pretty big part of it was cut off.

The head and torso are from the official Darth Vader Transformation set that just came out with some added paint and wrinkles to show he was burnt, I still wanted to keep some of the design that was printed so I went easy on the crispiness of his body. The aforementioned legs were cut, sanded then painted. I also sculpted onto the end of his left arm where his hand and part of his arm were cut off. I even painted the back of his head and torso.

Tell me what you think of him!

A homage to one of my favourite Star Wars sets from back in the day!

I'm a big fan of this speeder, and I've been meaning to attempt it in LEGO for a little while.

I had a lot of fun with the 'mosaic' panels at the front.

Hello guys, Here’s the Republic gunship. I’m really happy that I finally post that photo because it took ages to build this MOC. It was the biggest and most difficult project I’ve ever had and of course I had to buy new parts so it took a bit more time to finish it. But I’m happy with it although it isn’t very stable😉. It’s based on The Clone Wars so I added a few creative colours or signs like the light orange mark at the cockpit. If you like it, please leave a fave or a follow and write in the comments below. Bye!

A V-wing to accompany the ARC-170!

click here for a video showcasing the landing gear 'play feature'.

Another PT ship that was very difficult to represent in LEGO form, mainly due to the angled nose.

I think it's a bit bulky compared to what we see in the movies, but the size was largely determined by the gear system used to move the wings (The original LEGO set had the moving wings as a play feature- I wanted to add that to this one too).

I'd like to revise this in the future- make it less wide and add some stability to that sloped nose. But overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm glad I got the 'play faetures' in and I quite like the way the cockpit turned out (there was a lot of debate regarding which canopy would be the most accurate).

Vote for Model of the Moment: bntm.tumblr.com/post/3246575226/model-of-the-moment

The time has come yet again. I can't believe it has already been a whole year since the last Star Wars Day. Star Wars means a lot to me. It's my whole life. Star Wars Day is an awesome holiday to celebrate this amazing franchise! Because I'm homeschooled, my mom gave me today off of school because she knows how much I love Star Wars. My mom is awesome.

Here's a picture to celebrate this special day! These are all of my Lego Star Wars figures to date (Excluding duplicates and some different versions of characters). Well, I hope you all enjoy, and I'm going to get back to watching all 6 Star Wars movies! :)

My first vignette EVER ! And yeah, surprisingly, the subject is a scene from a SW movie - in Episode 3 -

Made for a building challenge on my french forum : I'm currently trying to cure my love/hate relationship with the SW universe. And this helped me, it was a fun and pleasant little build session.

Sadly I don't have a R2D2 minifig, so I had to take another Astromech droid...

Hope you'll like it anyway ;-)

One of this year's Speed Champions sets, 76925 Aston Martin Vantage & Safety Car featured a whole bunch of recoloured Green elements which allowed me to finally build a Green version of the Eta Actis.

I wrote about the set for New Elementary. You can read the article here

It may look like it but his isn't just a straight-up recolour. Compared to the Red/ Yellow/ Dark Blue versions, there are some subtle differences in the paintjob on the wings which required a lot more rebuilding out than I had anticipated.
