The Cromford textile factory in Ratingen on the Rhine was founded in 1783 by Johann Gottfried Brügelmann and was the first factory on the European mainland. Today it is home to a branch of the LVR Industrial Museum.

The museum is located on the site of the Battle of Overloon, a World War II tank and infantry battle between Allied and German forces that occurred in September and October 1944, in the aftermath of Operation Market Garden.
Set in 14 hectares of woodland, it is one of two museums in an area now designated as Liberty Park. A feature of the museum is the large number of military vehicles and equipment on display, both German and Allied. For years these have been kept in the open air, but have recently been moved indoors in order to help preserve them. Many of the exhibited vehicles took part in the Battle of Overloon. In 2006 the collection was expanded with a large number of vehicles from a private collection."

The Designer Outlet Roermond is an Outlet Center of the British company McArthurGlen and offers 200 international designer brands. The centre is located on the edge of downtown Roermond and was opened in November 2001. With more than 5.5 million visitors per year, it is one of the largest attractions in the Netherlands. Most of the visitors come from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and there are also many international tourists who visit the Outlet.

"Standard 8 mm film stock consists of 16 mm film reperforated to have twice the usual number of perforations along its edges, though using the same size sprocket holes. This film is run through the camera, exposing one edge of the film only (the frame size of standard 8 mm film is 4.8 mm x 3.5 mm). The spool is then reversed and the film run through again, exposing the other edge. After processing the film is cut down the centre and spliced together to give one roll of 8mm wide film. The standard spool size for amateur use contains 25 ft of film, giving a total of 50 ft available for projection; at the usual filming speed of 16 frames per second this gives about four minutes of footage."

Castle Gardens
Arcen Castle is a double moated stately country house in the Dutch village of Arcen, which is located in the municipality of Venlo (Limburg).
The current castle stands on the site of a destroyed predecessor (the Nije Huys) and was built in 1653 by Marcelis van Gelder, lord of Arcen. His grandson Adolf built the main building in the early 18th century. The castle is constructed of brick with the exception of the frame of the main entrance, which consists of natural stone. The main building was originally a French design of two projecting wings, but the north side was demolished after a fire in the 19th century.
The current castle is in a good condition, and it is part of the Castle Gardens of Arcen.
