Este diablillo no falta a su cita en una balsa del paraje de la Zafra. Convive en gran cantidad con Enallagma cyathigerum pero no se puede confundir.
Volveré a buscar a la hembra.

La hembra de Orthetrum trinacria estaba dando cuenta del macho joven de Crocothemis erythraea que había cazado y capté la escena.
Cuando ya la tuve y como esos ojazos me pueden, me acerqué hasta conseguir un primer plano de ellos y de la escena.

The female Orthetrum trinacria was finishing off the young male Crocothemis erythraea she had killed and I caught the scene.
When I had it and as those big eyes can do me, I approached until I got a close-up of them and the scene.

Lo que vemos es un macho maduro de Ischnura graellsii y lo identifico así porque los extremos de los apéndices son convergentes, no como elegans que son divergentes.
Si eso es definitivo, es correcto. Pero si nos fijamos en el pincho del pronoto, existe pero muy reducido y el pterostigma no es bicolor.
Son especies que resultan difíciles de identificar correctamente.

What we see is a mature male of Ischnura graellsii and I identify it as such because the ends of the appendages are convergent, not like elegans which are divergent.
If that is definitive, that is correct. But if we look at the spike of the pronotum, it exists but it is very reduced and the pterostigma is not bicolor.
They are species that are difficult to identify correctly.

Difícil de ver si no se mueve la hembra adulta de Crocothemis erythraea, pero inconfundible por esos tonos, el abdomen ensanchado, el azul de la parte posterior de los ojos y la lámina vulvar que en este caso no se ve.

So einen Zug hat selbst die Landbevölkerung nicht oft gesehen, welche dafür kurz die Feldarbeit unterbrach.
Podríamos confundir, sobre todo a los individuos jóvenes, de esta especie con meridionale que subí el otro día.
Nos tendremos que fijar en el color de los ojos y sobretodo en esas manchas (barras) de los primeros segmentos del abdomen.

Los machos adultos de esta especie son inconfundibles con ese rojo característico y las manchas bien visibles de las alas.

Ayer un amigo me ponía al corriente de que Fotonatura cerraba. La galería donde colgué la primera foto de libélula, en 2007, sin saber lo que era. Un macho de Sympetrum fonscolombii y captado muy cerca de donde hoy he conseguido éste.
Mi agradecimiento a esa galería que me enseñó un mundo nuevo y me permitió hacer amigos que me han ayudado a disfrutar de esta bendita afición.

Yesterday a friend made me aware that Fotonatura closed. The gallery where I hung the first photo of dragonfly, in 2007, without knowing what it was. A male of Sympetrum fonscolombii and caught very close to where I got this one today.
My thanks to that gallery that taught me a new world and allowed me to make friends who have helped me enjoy this blessed hobby.
