Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!
― Dr. Seuss
"Enlightenment is like everyday consciousness but two inches above the ground."
Quote - D.T. Suzuki
In the surroundings walls of the D.T. Suzuki Museum (鈴木大拙館, Suzuki Daisetsu Kan), Kanazawa, Japan, there are a few gaps, like this one, where you still can see the Water Mirror Garden.
The nicely shaped fountain (I think…..) stands in the small Roji Garden of the museum.
All around, baby, you can see
You're making your own reality everyday because
Enlightenment, don't know what it is
(Van Morrison - Enlightenment)
Being in Mid Winter my crepe myrtles have dropped all of their leaves The other day I noticed the sun shining on this web which was encasing the tip of this branch and was struck with how pretty it looked. I went inside a grabbed my camera, focused on the dead leaves and was surprised at how much bokeh I retained even at f/11.
I've crossed deserts for miles
Swam water for time
Searching places to find
A piece of something to call mine (I'm coming)
A piece of something to call mine (I'm coming)
Coming closer to you
Ran along many moors
Walked through many doors
The place where I want to be
Is the place I can call mine (I'm coming)
Is the place I can call mine (I'm coming)
Coming closer to you

Buddha once said, all pain and suffering is due to our attachment to this world.
I say, be like the beautiful Lotus that rises above the murk of the filthy waters of this world - detached but not of this world.
An endless pursuit to enlightenment, we are a constant work in progress

Deep in the forest, there is a astonishing light...
... so I stand with joy & gratitude before you and can say heaven is a place on earth.
When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.

A lonely Cyclamen flower, surrounded by wet green grass, welcomes the splendid sun rays through the woods canopy. Another day in Earth paradise...
This insightful Russian documentary on the personal life of the Dalai Lama had been removed from this site and just now I found it restored and decided to accompany the documentary with a collage.
Please take time to view. It's difficult to find. (Only itunes Australia has it for rent/sale)
In the documentary "Sunrise/Sunset", the Dalai Lama states one does not have to be a believer to attain Enlightenment.
This truth might appeal to you as it does to me.
Also inspired by the Dalai Lama’s baggy eyes in this film, I’ve increased my own practices :)

My own recent sunset (including orange ring around the Buddha) photos taken from house viewing window following a torrential rain provide the collage base followed by that gifted by A. Walden. Thank you Alan.

"Ignoramus et ignorabimus" (e.h. du Bois-reymond). In the short term, it may be due to the bounded rationality that this statement applies. But in the medium term to long term, I think, as a friend of the Enlightenment ("Sapere Aude"! - Dare to Be Wise! "(I. Kant)) and science, that many things can be rational and scientifically explained. For the unclear things, it needs still some time until they can be scientifically explained in the future.
This picture is part of an exhibition that I have been working on for the past months, I have done 8 pictures of Lighthouses that are Exhibited at FOCUS Gallery.

Enlightenment:
Insightful and open-minded. You are able to see the world with great clarity, without attachment to preconceived ideas about people, places, and things. This enables you to observe the world without jumping to conclusions.

MYANMAR - BAYIN NYI CAVE
