This particular sunset in early May was so enchanting and mesmerizing, people walking around the neighborhood literally stopped in the middle of their strolls to watch for several minutes. One fellow unloaded his backpack from his back and just sat on the street curb to admire the entire scene. It was such a blissful and serendipitous moment in time.

Many of you who are very familiar (or unfamiliar) with this view of the San Francisco skyline will notice that there is a "new kid in town". It is the Salesforce Tower which now completely dominates the skyline of California's fourth largest city, thus concluding the iconic Transamerica Pyramid's 45-year reign as the city's tallest skyscraper in 2017. (That's a pretty impressive run, regardless).

As you might imagine, depending on who you ask in San Francisco, some love the new, fresh, modern 21st century addition to the skyline while others loathe its existence as it discontinues the familiar outline of the skyline so many of us have been accustomed to recognize for decades.

Personally, as a cityscape photographer who does not live in San Francisco, brand new skyscrapers added to the skyline can be somewhat frustrating as the completion of these new buildings automatically outdates 90% of the images of that city in my portfolio. I currently face this issue with a number of cities featured on my website. (For example, London in 2017 does not look remotely close to London in 2011).

I suppose this is the conundrum of any cityscape that evolves over time. The positive side of it is that new buildings provide new -- and necessary -- reasons to return to these cities for updated images!

Brand new images of San Francisco are now featured on my official website.

Banff, those who visited feel nothing but "Heaven on earth". The Rockies, its glacier topped peaks and the turquoise lakes make us speechless.

There is a light show around the Gyokusen-en Garden in Kanazawa on weekends in November to celebrate the fall colours and luckily, we happened to be there on a Saturday night. It is a truely enchanting and magical place.

Castle Tioram is suddenly becoming quite well known. The camping fraternity have discovered it down this tiny four mile track to Dorlin. Fortunately the car park at the end of the track is too small to accommodate many mobile homes and camper vans. About five is its limit. And with wild campers leaving cars and kayaks and canoes there too it can be hard to find space. And yachts are beginning to populate the quiet anchorages behind the castle in Loch Moidart. Mind you it is a very special corner of Scotland, dripping with history and atmosphere. Just a few miles from Innes House. I love the light that reflects in off the estuary through the trees near the Gardener's Cottage

The windmills at Kinderdijk were enlighted recently and Nederwaard no. 5 is truly enchanting when it is lit in the evening! Especially when its reflection is visible in the calm water, with soms waivy reed through it.

I love the Canadian prairies. I've been driving across them for years. I love the big skies. I love the grasses. I love the expanse of the fields and the golden hay bales that dot the land. And I especially love it when the frost comes along, giving that extra bit of magic to it all.

It was wearing the special "Formula 1 2021 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix" livery and the logo of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on its nacelles.

Naramata, located on the Southeast side of Lake Okanogan is one of my favourite towns in B.C. I also like other towns that have "N" names, like Nanaimo, Nelson and Nakusp :) I had to walk to the end of the dock to get this panorama shot. I wanted to include the three tall pine trees located behind these two homes that are situated on the shore of the lake. Naramata has an interesting history:

The watercolor on paper, digitally created from your picture, captures a serene and enchanting scene of the old architecture in the city of Pontevedra, Spain. The artwork portrays the timeless beauty of this historic city, where traditional houses stand proudly, creating an atmosphere that exudes tranquility.

The watercolor technique lends a soft and dreamlike quality to the piece, with delicate brushstrokes and subtle washes of color. The artist skillfully blends hues of pastel tones, reminiscent of the gentle sunlight that bathes the scene. Soft pinks and blues accentuate the warm tones of the aged stone facades, creating a harmonious interplay of colors.

The focal point of the artwork is a small stone square, which serves as the heart of this idyllic setting. It is adorned with cobblestones that add texture and charm to the composition. The square is surrounded by traditional houses, their weathered walls adorned with vibrant flower boxes overflowing with colorful blooms. The flowers spill over the balconies and window sills, adding a touch of natural beauty to the urban landscape.

The architectural details of the buildings are meticulously depicted, showcasing the intricate designs of the balconies, wooden shutters, and terracotta roofs. Each element contributes to the overall charm and character of the old city. The artist has taken care to capture the play of light and shadow, enhancing the three-dimensional quality of the scene.

The atmosphere of the watercolor painting exudes a sense of tranquility and peace. The absence of bustling crowds allows the viewer to appreciate the quiet beauty of the place. It is as if time stands still, inviting one to wander through the narrow streets and explore the rich historyu that permeates every corner of this picturesque city.

Overall, the watercolor on paper, digitally created from my picture, encapsulates the essence of Pontevedra, Spain. It portrays a beautiful and quiet place, where traditional architecture, vibrant flowers, and a small stone square converge to create a scene of timeless charm and serenity.
