On a morning trip to Eastbourne I had planned to photograph the fabulously painted Towner Gallery that I've seen a few pictures of here on Flickr. However just opposite the gallery is this much smaller but equally striking building. Modern but yet with an Art Deco influence, I couldn't help myself. I was planning to do a monochrome edit, but actually it seems to suit a bolder edit in colour. Canon EOS 6D & Sigma Art 14-24mm f/2.8

We often fail to see the transformations of ice, rock, or other solid elements in nature. The cacophony of our human rhythms and lifeways often overshadow and deny the time it takes them to become what's evident to the season of our senses. Have you ever smelled ice?

I saw this little one emerge from the undergrowth yesterday evening while in the park near our home. he was about 20 feet away from me, completely oblivious to my presence. the camera made a noise when I took the photo, and he disappeared silently into the forest. this is the third time I have seen a fox/foxes in the past couple of months. Pierre and I saw a mother and 4 pups, then a few members of the same family a couple of days after that. this time though, I was alone. this is the closest I have ever been to a wild mammal. it feel like a gift from the universe to have seen him emerge. the lesson here is to go out into the world and to stay present. "the world offers itself up to your imagination," as Mary Oliver said these foxes are living proof.
foxes are thought to symbolize intuition, creativity, and stealthiness. they silently slip in and out of different realms, emerging and disappearing again. foxes can appear before us in order to remind us to follow our intuition and to tap into our creativity.
regardless of the spiritual significance that can be attributed to this encounter, I am so grateful to have had it!
HAPPY SLIDERS SUNDAY !!
Here's a wild slide ride, featuring heavy use of saturate and posterize sliders. The pond water was clear. I was able to move my POV until there were no reflections on the water surface. As a result, I could capture the parts of this emerging water lily that were both above and below the water surface.

Well i'm not quite out of the fog yet, but I had the need to upload something. This was near Oatlands in Central Tasmania early morning. I was on my way between Hobart and Launceston and stopped here when I saw this amazing fog with the sun shining through the trees making great shadows.
Shortly afterwards I drove straight into this fog for a short while before it just disappeared.
Hard to get the exposure right on an image like this one.
Feeling dark this morning.

With a pair of C30-7's already out at the mine, we were taken off guard by another train running out to Tilden. While it was not the boats we were after, a pair of blue birds run through the cut at Eagle Mills Jct. with a train of empties for Tilden.

The Hasselblad Sonnar-Superachromat 5.6/250 lens captures light waves at the periphery of the visible spectrum. Under certain conditions, color nuances appear, especially in diffuse light, as seen here in the morning mist at sunrise

I have been enjoying a little bit of time off so this is a photo from my archives that I missed out on posting here for some reason.
The iconic Moeraki Boulders, or at least two of them, on the east coast of New Zealand's south island, on a moody morning with the receding tide providing great water movement. These strange rocks looked like alien entities emerging from under the water.

What's this? The door is open...that can only mean one thing.
There's a first time for everything, and this was the first time for me seeing the Commercial's critter at the end of the line in Fridley at the Commercial Transload. I was hoping to see the Belt Job, which was a success, then noticed the CTM door was open. I was pleased to see the headlights pop on and see MNNR 80 emerge - the MLW RS23.

Sunset light graces the rock formations of Fantasy Canyon in the Uinta Basin. A native American tradition holds that demons emerged from the underworld here with a plot to take over the surface world. Their plan was thwarted by the north god who sent snow and cold weather that froze the demons, leaving them in strange contorted shapes forever.
Geologists suggest the formations are residual erosional deposits from sandstones to the east (left in the picture) which were deposited into softer silts and clays on the shore of ancient Lake Uinta. Recent erosion has exposed the sandstones as the softer rock is washed away.
