Sydney - photographed from the Cahill Walkway on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, about 50 metres from the south-eastern pylon.
Saturday night, 24th May, 2024.
So I parked the car along Lavender Street at Lavender Bay (aka Milsons Point) and wandered down to Kirribilli to acquire a Flat White Coffee along with a Raspberry & Panna Cotta Tart, which I drank & ate walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, in order to grapple for a position on the walkway up above 'The Rocks' and Campbells Cove.
I managed to fight off a Ninja-like battalion of photographers from Japan, as well as other warrior-style photographers from Cardiff, Madrid and Boston - all armed with tripods. Needless to say I still don't have a tripod but this ironically assisted me to gain my position for the fireworks. Hence this picture and other similar (though different) shots previously uploaded to Flickr.
And here is The Electric Light Orchestra with their biggest ever hit-song 'Don't Bring Me Down' (1979) from their album 'Discovery':

I was trying to find a really good "blue sky" image but could only find this one, so not as much blue as i wanted, but it'll do! We are off to see the ELO tonight at the O2, can't wait!
Have a great Sunday everyone!
Mr. Blue you did it right
But soon comes Mr. Night
Creeping over
Now his hand is on your shoulder
Never mind
I'll remember you this
I'll remember you this way
– ELO, Mr. Blue Sky
Thanks to Evelyn Flint for the background!
The secret messages are calling to me endlessly
They call to me across the air
The messages across the atmosphere
They whisper in your ear
They're calling everywhere

Well I am back at Darling Harbour, lol. This is a different edit of my shot taken during one of my night-time treks around Sydney.
Photographed from the western, Ibis-hotel, side of Cockle Bay, looking east to the Sydney CBD and the Darling Harbour Promenade. The bridge to the left is the Pyrmont Bridge, first opened in 1902.
Here is ELO with arguably their most successful song 'Don't Bring Me Down' (1979):

And here are my favourite 'Shuffle Girls' with their dancing version of 'Don't Bring Me Down':

Jeff Lynne's ELO 'Alone in the Universe Tour 2016' at the O2 London.
Fantastic night, makes my top three of concerts ever. The set ended with Livin' Thing, Sweet Talkin' Woman and Mr. Blue Sky. And if that was not enough the finale was Roll Over Beethoven. It doesn't get any better than that 😀
The light show was great and this shot was grabbed during Turn to Stone.

Spinning The Very Best of ELO, a high-voltage blend of rock, pop, and orchestral magic. This collection is packed with classics like “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Evil Woman,” “Livin’ Thing,” and “Don’t Bring Me Down.” ELO didn’t just make music, they built cinematic soundscapes that still feel futuristic today.
Stylus down, lights up, let the symphony roll.
Macro Monday "Games or Game Pieces"!
Never thought I would blend a chess piece, Electric Light Orchestra and macro photography!
Queen of the hours (1971) - Electric Light Orchestra... Wow, 46 years ago...
Hold on tight to your dream
Hold on tight to your dream
When you see your ship go sailing
When you feel your heart is breaking
Hold tight to your dream.
It's a long time to be gone
Time just rolls on and on
When you need a shoulder to cry on
When you get so sick of trying
Just hold tight to your dream
CHORUS:
When you get so down that you can't get up
And you want so much but you're all out of luck
When you're so downhearted and misunderstood
Just over & over & over you could
Accroches-toi a ton reve
Accroches-toi a ton reve
Quand tu vois ton bateau partir
Quand tu sents -- ton coeur se briser
Accroches-toi a ton reve.
REPEAT CHORUS:
Hold on tight to your dream
Hold on tight to your dream
When you see the shadows falling
When you hear that cold wind calling
Hold on tight to your dream.
Oh, yeah
Hold on tight to your dream
Yeah, hold on tight...
To your dream.

ELO on LP - 053021 - BW Punch
aka 'Doncaster Nights'
Messing around with a 50mm F1.2 on Doncaster railway station.
I tried various compositions (and signal aspects), but the uniformity brought by the lights on the platform at left gave the most appealing result I thought. Focusing was set to manual and adjusted to give a hint of the train without being distractingly obvious.
Not for folk who like something in focus.

Initially I wanted to make a humanoid female character with a computer head - directly inspired by Electric Light Orchestra's "Yours Truly, 2095" song from their "Time" album, where the lines "I met someone who looks a lot like you, she does the things you do, but she is an IBM" are sung. I wanted to make a sleek & cyberpunk bodysuit, to contrast with the old, clunky computer head, but after making the boots and churning out a pair of jeans, I ditched that idea and just went for a greaser guy style. I wasn't happy with the legs' proportions either from a female character standpoint, so I stuck to a standard male build. The leather jacket came from wanting to use minifigure skates to build a mid-open zipper.
I built two different sizes of IBM monitors for the head, but they were both much too bulky, so I simplified the larger version to only be the screen itself, without any knobs on the side or large white case. I still have the smaller version, though! Maybe it'll show up in a future character.
I'm quite happy with the final result. It's the first time I'm making everyday clothes, and I'm particularly glad to have incorporated layers thanks to the open jacket and the shirt underneath.
View On Black, trust me it's way better

The dreamer, the unwoken fool,
In dreams, no pain will kiss the brow.
The love of ages fills the head.
The days that linger there in prey of emptiness,
Of burned out dreams.
The minutes calling through the years.
The universal dreamer rises up above his earthly burden.
Journey to the dead of night.

Remember the good old 1980's,
When things were so uncomplicated,
I wish I could go back there again
And everything could be the same.
I've got a ticket to the moon
I'll be leaving here any day soon
Yeah, I've got a ticket to the moon. ~ELO
