I wasn't really pleased on how this came out, based on what I'd hoped to accomplish with this experiment. Facing west in the AM, I tried to get more contrast by increasing the Fomapan 200 to EI400 here, and adding about 20% to development time, but even with that, the Xpan 30mm lens is slow, so it was basically a wide open aperture shot which made it quite soft. Given that I was trying to balance within an erosion rut, I'm sure my hand was less than steady as well. Xtol/Rodinal helped a little, but still overall the focus is less than optimal.
The Watts Towers are a collection of 17 interconnected sculptural towers, sculptural features, and mosaics within the site of the artist’s residence in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. The entire site was designed and constructed by Simon Rodia, an Italian immigrant construction worker over a 33-year period from 1921 to 1954. The tallest tower is 99.5 feet (30.3 m). The towers are decorated with found objects, including bottles, ceramic tiles, seashells, figurines, mirrors, and much more. Rodia died in 1965. The Towers were designated a United States National Historic Landmark in 1990.

This was a challenge due to the shadows and side lit scene, particularly given the wide (really wide) angle of the capture. The TMY2 was pretty good here in combination with Xtol/Rodinal in bringing out much of the tonality of the scene.
Been away for awhile but wanted to experiment with Kentmere 400, doing exposure at EI200 with Xtol (alone). Was pretty happy with these results, with present but not overwhelming grain, and good tonality and detail. This is a good combo, I think, and better than exposing at EI400. Thanks top the flickeranians who continue to inspire!
