Although there are a few aprons hanging on the easel in a corner of my studio, I was inspired by my husband's garden gloves. He needed to run back to the store for more gardening supplies, so I pulled up the garbage can as my temporary easel and sketched this. Just as I found it. It's a messy activity.

One of my goals is to work larger than my usual 1/4 sheet, so this is closer to a half sheet. The challenges were the Mexican Talavera pattern foreshortened on the near edge of the bowl, and the texture of the lemons. I can't decide if I should put the wood grain of the table in or not, since it's not the part I'm especially interested in.

This was in bloom until last week. Fragrant when flowering. Looks similar to bottlebrush.

There's always something hanging around screaming to be drawn!

My breakfasts are boring, either eggs or oatmeal.

I make the oatmeal by pouring some in the bottom of the bowl and adding enough water to cover, plus about 1/4 inch. I stir in a little salt, some cinnamon, and a shake or two of Splenda. I microwave two minutes, then stir in a spoonful of peanut butter and enough water to make it creamy. Then I microwave the cereal one more minute. If I'm lucky and there are blueberries, I stir them in last.
