Myiarchus cephalotes

(Pale-edged flycatcher / Atrapamoscas montañero)

Pale-edged flycatcher is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela, distributed throughout subtropical montane forest in the Andes.

This species is typically a bird of humid forests and is one of the few species of Myiarchus that is restricted entirely to humid montane forest.

Macro Mondays: "Edge"

Milk Motion makes incredible scenes, almost every month. This month was no exception and brought us the Water Edge's Scene. The scene is beautifully arranged and the bridge stands over water filled with lilly pads and cattails. The party balloons are perhaps my new favorite thing and I want to rezz these celebratory trees all over Ippos...

Thank you all for support!

After posting lots of bleak, snowy landscapes lately, I thought I'd post something from high summer. This was taken in a Derbyshire meadow in July, looking towards Bamford Edge.

Thanks to all my flickr friends for taking the time to visit, comment and fave - I appreciate it!

The rounded edge on the new iPhone 7 makes it so much easier to drop compared to the squared edge of my beloved iPhone 4S.

Looking west along Stanage Edge. Somehow I've manged to capture the view without anyone else in shot on what was a very popular walk on this particular morning

Small dark dragonfly with a pale creamy white face.

Male: black with red-orange markings.

Female: black with yellow markings.

It requires relatively deep, oligotrophic, acidic bog pools with considerable rafts of Sphagnum at the edges in which to breed.

Larvae also occur among waterlogged Sphagnum in depressions devoid of standing water.

The larvae live within the matrix of submerged and floating sphagnum and are confined to waters without fish. Away from its aquatic habitat it also requires scrub or woodland, which provides important roosting and feeding sites.

Broken like a wingless bird

it is stuck on land but still has faith

somebody will come by one day

and makes it back to it's old state.
