World Chambers Congress Day 3: Entrepreneurship Ecosystems

"The inspiration was the International collaboration that was the James Web Telescope. With participation form Canada, USA and Europe it is evident that projects have gone global. On the other hand , the value of launch sites should be credited, especially French Guiana. the trees in my artwork symbolize how the environment plays a major role in actives and well as the location of launching stations closer to the equator. the women in the different styles symbolize the possibilities of a vibrant and diverse space sector were women from different cultures are free to express themselves in space matters. the women also symbolize the need to use space technology to solve our ecological problems as it is women who are most affected by the effects of climate change."

Thanks to my friend Dan for contributing to the design of the aquarium stand. It's very sturdy and a LOT less expensive than a real aquarium stand.

Here it is in my dining room half filled with water to see how level everything is. We shimmed the legs a bit but other than that, it's a great fit.

The fantastic food at the sanctuary.

It has been presented at the Club of Rome 50th Anniversary meeting, the United Nations COP24 conference on climate change, a large exhibition held at the Mathematical Institute of Oxford University and the Environment Europe Oxford Spring School in Ecological Economics and now at the United Nations World Urban Forum 2020. There are only 450 copies left so you will have to be quick: stanislav.photography/ecosystems

You are most welcome to explore my new website: stanislav.photography/ and a totally new blog: environmenteurope.wordpress.com/

We took an afternoon boat trip on the Tarcoles River.

Jungle Crocodile Safari explores three different ecosystems--the river, mangroves where dense shrubbery grows in the water, and the mouth of the river.

Guests are given a brochure with the pictures and species of some 60 usual birds that live along the river. Crocodiles, cattle, iguanas, and other wildlife is abundant.

The safari was was founded in 1993 by Mario Fernando Orjuela Castro, a veterinarian who specialized in non-traditional species as boas, iguanas and crocodiles.

The time scale of change refers to the time required for the effects of a perturbation of a process to be expressed. Inertia refers to the delay or slowness in the response of a system to factors altering their rate of change, including continuation of change in the system after the cause of that change has been removed.

The North West Coast Academic Health Science Network (NWC AHSN) explored the issues that alcohol abuse poses to the healthcare sector at their quarterly ecosystem event held on 14th July at Select Security Stadium in Widnes.

Attended by more than 100 industry and public sector experts, businesses, and academia, the event discussed the current system for alcohol A&E attendances and the challenges faced by services.

Presenters included Professor Sir Ian Gilmore, Chairman, Liverpool Health Partners, Professor Mike Pearson, Professor of Clinical Evaluation, University of Liverpool and Ali Wheeler, Director, Drink Wise.

Dr Liz Mear, chief executive of the NWC AHSN, said: “Alcohol abuse is placing increased pressure on our hospitals and emergency services and it’s critical that we target the root of the problem, rather than attempting to come up with short-term reactive solutions. Unfortunately, it is a growing problem and alcohol-related illness currently makes up ten percent of the UK disease burden as well as being the cause of six percent of road causalities and nearly one in five road deaths.

“This event brought together experts in the field, including public sector workers, industry partners, and academics, to share information and explore new, innovative ways in which to collaboratively tackle this critical issue.”

Currently, it is estimated that alcohol-related harm in England costs the health sector over £20 billion each year. Although it is a national concern, alcohol abuse in North West remains a significant problem with 11 out of the 18 areas in the NWC AHSN region displaying higher morbidity and mortality rates compared with the national average.

The event was held as part of the NWC AHSN’s ecosystem events. Hosted every four months, the ecosystem brings together representatives from the NHS, local councils, academic organisations and industry to work together and tackle health challenges by encouraging the uptake of connected technological healthcare solutions.

The ‘Ecosystem-based Adaptation South’ project seeks to help the Seychelles, Nepal and Mauritania to adapt to climate change, in part by restoring natural habitats across all types of ecosystems. In the Seychelles, on-the-ground ecological restoration will rehabilitate 29 hectares of mangrove and wetland forests, thus providing natural flood barriers. "ewww the Ecosystem Stinks, Let's get Rid of it."

Strange putrified gross salmon. My first reaction was to retch and almost puke at the smell. My second reaction was to, of course, take a picture. I considered stooping down to get a close up shot...but then again... it smells even worse than it looks.

What does it take to succeed in the digital world? Learning to navigate ecosystems.
