Several photographers were up at Trout Lake in Yellowstone at dusk hoping to see river otters but looking for whatever else we might find. No otters, but this obliging muskrat swam up to the otter log with a mouthful of greens and entertained us.

Photographed at the west end of Lake Ontario, this Herring Gull is eating a fish that I believe is a Rudd, a non-native invasive species. The gulls should eat as many of these particular fish as possible!
Great tit (parus major) perched on a branch and eating a sunflower seed.

A wild Red Squirrel eating a walnut at The Dingle Nature Reserve, Anglesey. Saw half a dozen in and around a small area in the Reserve. The colours of them varied from red to dark brown. Single image on a telephoto lens handheld.
Another place to eat inside at the Truck Stop.
This was at the "Truck Stop" in Show Low, Arizona, USA.. A fun place of different foods, drinks, bands, arts, crafts, and games. The theme is old trucks and they are parked all around with many being used as seating, stage, or decoration.

Caught up with this guy right around lunchtime on Sunday, and he was being a good boy, eating his greens .
Have a great Thursday!!!
This leaf is going quickly as these caterpillars ravenously attack it. I was looking for insects and saw something fly by this leaf and then saw lots of movement on the leaf, but I couldn't tell what was going on. So I took a closer look and "Oh, boy" this leaf was being devoured! It makes sense as the leaves nearby were just skeletonized.

All sunflower seeds are favorite foods for American goldfinches. Even though we're more familiar with the large tame sunflower seeds that get put out in our feeders, the birds also feast all fall and winter on the many nutritious wild varieties out in prairies or fallow fields.
A rainbow lorikeet enjoying a feast. They are quite comical to watch eating as they twist and contort themselves to get to the best berries

I never had to be told to eat my vegetables when I was a kid, for even as a young child I loved them. And so, during lockdown they were one of the things I missed the most. I did my grocery shopping about every 10 days and so I'd have fresh veggies for about 4 days then I'd have to resort to frozen ones for 5 or 6 days.
Worm-eating Warbler ~ (Helmitheros vermivorum)
One of my favorite warblers, but not one I have had much success with in terms of photos. I was happy to catch this one at Fort DeSoto in a little bit of light.
Thanks for visiting!

All day yesterday there was a benefit for WIRES (www.wires.org.au/)
at Stroke & Donna's Secret Haven (maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rue%20Bourbon/93/78/21). A constant flow of DJ's and an AC/DC concert. Plenty of joking around, time with friends, family, including time with my sl sisters who I don't get to see enough. What an amazing event. They raised over 200k Lindens over the course of the event... You can say Second Life isn't real, it's just a game, everyone is fake, etc all you want but there's no denying there were real people donating real money to a real cause with real heart. Nothing fake about that.
This headache from staying up until 3am isn't fake either, lol. Ok normal for some of you, but when 10pm is your "normal" bedtime and your eyes don't close until 5 hours later than normal, and you're not so young anymore, it hurts a little ;)
Time for coffee and donuts. Have an amazing day you amazing people ♥

I thought this green heron was fishing, but then realized it was snapping dragonflies out of the air.
