Bote Mountain Tunnel is located along Laurel Creek Road, one of the most traveled roads in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, between the Townsend Wye and Cades Cove. It is a 121-foot-long tunnel, constructed in 1948 that is concrete lined and cuts through Bote Mountain.
The Bote Mountain Tunnel is one of four in the national park. Two other tunnels are on Newfound Gap Road and the fourth is on the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Spur.
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
