Each day we see more Ukrainian flags go up around town as the people here rally behind the people of Ukraine. In the big picture it is just a small gesture but, as always, it is the little things that count. Now we all anxiously await the day when saner minds prevail, the atrocities end and peace and order is restored to Ukraine once again.

We may look a bit different but deep down we are copy and paste versions of each other. We live inside each others heads and even finish each others thoughts regularly. I love you bb.

Thank you to each and every follower. 200 might not seem a lot to many people but for me it is huge. It is giving me confidence to continue this hobby and hopping to take it further. Hugs and love to all!

14th March 2020:
Guess what, it's not raining, but is flat grey and really miserable.
As our Cape Daisy ~ Osteospermum had opened up I took it as my backup photo. As I doubt that the weather is going to improve I'm using it for today. I need something cheerful.

Each beautiful thing, a flower, the song of a bird,
awakens in our soul the memory of our origin.
Learn how to listen to the voice of beautiful things,
to make us understand the voice of our soul.
- Mevlevi Dervishes
A man alone on the cliffs, a silhouette against the darkening sky, the waves crashing far below, their mournful roar rising like the echoes of forgotten grief, each tide a reminder of his sorrow.
Above, a seagull passed aimlessly, their shadow brushing the stone like fleeting memories, untouched by the weight of his sorrow.
The sea, infinite and unyielding, stretched endlessly before him, cold and indifferent, a reflection of the depth of his loneliness, the tide relentless in its rhythm, as if mocking his stillness.
He lingered there, eyes hollow, staring into the abyss, as though pleading for it to speak, to give meaning to the silence that consumed him, to the sorrow that the tide could never wash away.

(05/365) Day 5 photo of my 2017 : one photo each day group. Not too late to join if you have been taking one photo each day so far this year. I noticed this fine looking bottle of Australian Gold Reserve Shiraz in Tesco. Also for 117 pictures in 2017 #110 Gold
Lovely and sunny, but the wind is freezing cold, even going out into the garden isn't that much fun. So I had a look inside instead.
While I was filling my mug with water for a cup of tea I noticed that the dog food tin that had been soaking had bubbles on the top. Don't know why as although I'd put some washing up liquid in it last night it's not normally still bubbly in the morning.
I turned on the strip light and took some photos and this was the one I liked best.

Thank you for your favourites. :O)
I promise it's the last one I'll upload this season... unless another one lands on a flower and stays long enough to have a photo taken.
Today it is cold and rainy and really windy so I don't expect to see any around.
The weather has changed. It seems about the 15th of August things go from blistering hot to sort of cool already. And, the past week has been noticeably cooler especially at night ... only +4C this morning... brrrr... already..... I think I'll bake some bread to warm up the kitchen at least. I hope we don't have to turn on the furnace for heat already.. this is just too early to even think about winter weather.
This is a little lady... apparently the two dots on each of the wings indicates that.... a little tidbit I learned this year...
25th June 2017:
It was a sort of none day today so in the morning I worked on my Macro Mondays theme in the garden and at the same time grabbed my photo for today.
Nothing over exciting but I liked how it came out.

Cold Shoulder in both meanings of the expression. These two sculptures have their backs turned giving each other the cold shoulder while the angel has a mantle of snow covering her shoulders and along her arm.
Each night...
as the sun would fall, she would sit down at that little kitchen table and write in her notebook. That notebook was where it all began....

Let's Fall In Love - Ella Fitzgerald :::
I have a feeling, it's a feeling,
I'm concealing, I don't know why
It's just a mental, insidental sentimental aliby
But I adore you
So strong for you
Why go on stalling
I am falling
Our love is calling
Why be shy?
Let's fall in love
Why shouldn't we fall in love?
Our hearts are made of it
Let's take a chance
Why be afraid of it
Let's close our eyes and make our own paradise
Little we know of it, still we can try
To make a go of it
We might have an end for each other
To be or not be
Let our hearts discover
Let's fall in love
Why shouldn't we fall in love
Now is the time for it, while we are young
Let's fall in love
We might have and end for each other
To be or not be
Let our hearts discover

This cactus plantation is made up of thousands of big and very small cacti. It's different each year and always celebrates some organisation which has an anniversary. It is placed here when the risk of frost is over and then taken away again before winter.
It's in the same garden and just opposite the statue in the previous upload.

Each one captures in their own way,
The sun's descent at the end of day.
A photographer, an artist, a child at play,
All sharing in this fading day.
19th June 2017:
Our wild strawberries are toasting nicely, though sadly the one that was ripe last week didn't taste as sweet as they did last year.
We've now got 4 plants and there's a third berry beginning to grow on one of them.
Ohh, I've just noticed a 3rd and maybe a 4th hiding underneath the others. Goody.
However we have a strawberry thief in the garden, it's not snails, slugs or birds, so what is it?
