Sensitometry is the scientific study of light-sensitive materials, especially photographic film. The study has its origins in the work by Ferdinand Hurter and Vero Charles Driffield (circa 1876) with early black-and-white emulsions. They determined how the density of silver produced varied with the amount of light received, and the method and time of development.
Then came the 'zone system' = how to render light subjects as light, and dark subjects as dark and allowing for tonal gray gradation.
One of my favorite photos which spans all the zones delightfully is 'Silverton' 1951 by who else -- Ansel Adams...

Bladerunner is a classic cyberpunk movie, and that atmosphere, the city, and the world are so wonderful that I watch it over and over again, even though it is an old movie.
The outfit I am wearing is a new one that fits well with the image of the dystopian world sold by Gabriel at ALPHA. The background is a backdrop of the corridor backdrop of the Cyberpunk Apartment Hallway, which is also available from ZEROICHI, also in ALPHA. I tried to recreate a sad dystopian Blade Runner world.

I always like this dystopian but colorful sorta aesthetic and I realize I do this quite a bit in my own personal rl work, thought I'd do a shot in world that mimics that.
We see a man with his trolley of possessions and a hat out on the pavement hoping for money from passers by, someone walking past so captivated by his phone he's seen nothing, posters for escapism entertainment, and finally it's all seen and recorded on CCTV by some remote faceless organisation.
A true reflection of society.

This is the last location I visited on my italian tour. After shooting for a couple of hours and when I thought I was done, is when all the fun started. Trying to remember where my exit was, I got lost in a maze of dark corridors and rooms in the basement, all looking alike. After trying all the corridors twice and even three times I finally found my way out.
The behemoth of poison and destruction is too big to stop.
We are all caught up in the process of destroying our planet.
I took artistic liberty when processing this shot, but the main fact is incontrovertible. Sadly, that smoke acid is real.

“Four deserted Tower Blocks
Traces of a mythical tribe
A dark fable for our times…”
ESTATE is a dystopian model village experience featuring four abandoned concrete tower blocks at 1:24 scale (approx 2 metres high) housed in a 40ft shipping container.
The tower blocks each serve a different function in the ESTATE and contain amusing scenes of mass social, economic and environmental devastation.
Tower block 1 contains residential Live-Work-Die units .
Tower block 2 is a multi-storey high security children’s prison.
Tower block 3 is a high-rise care home for the old, the dying and the dead.
Tower block 4 seems to have been some kind of spiritual centre for neo-pagan misbehaviour.

Der Leuchtturm Ellerholzhafen, mit achteckigem, nach oben verjüngendem Backsteinturm und grünem Kupfer-Laternenhaus, ist heute eine Radarbake. Sie steht an der Einfahrten zum Ellerholzhafen in Hamburg-Steinwerder an der Elbe.
The lighthouse Ellerholzhafen, with an octagonal brick tower tapering upwards and a green copper lantern house, is today a radar beacon. It stands at the entrance to the Ellerholzhafen in Hamburg-Steinwerder on river Elbe.
Among all the locations I went in my italian tour this is one of my favourites. I got in from the back in order to avoid being seen, but the jungle at the backyard was so thick i had some trouble going through. After shooting from all possible angles I still had some time left, so I stood there for a while, just staring and enjoying all those magnificent paintings which, for just one day, were displaying their beauty for me only.
