I was totally excited when I saw the fog and the sun in the morning. I had planned for this. I got ready for work, skipped breakfast and went to out. The forest is on my way to my working place. I was hoping to find a path leading into the mist and into the sun. As you see I did not succeed because of the rapidly fading mist. I am happy anyway - what a start of the day.
……I walked up & down taking a few shots but she refused to look at me! Far more interesting things going on the Quarry (park) behind me - not that we could see anything!!! BTW, she lives in a nice house with fine views over the Quarry & the River (see 1st comment box), a quick grab shot on my phone for HFF - have a good one. Alan:-)…….

I have only seen peacocks "off duty." until now, I had never seen the tail feathers displayed and shaking and quivering to attract a mate... "On Duty"
The female House Sparrows in my garden seem to get on very well and as a rule do not often fight These two males seem to think it is their duty every time they see each other to have a very loud and public battle . Showing off in front of the girls I suspect !
House Sparrow are still a common bird in Uk in gardens parks and around farms . They feed on grain buds and scraps . They are listed as a red list species which means they at serious risk. In the last 15 years the House Sparrow population in London has dropped by almost 70% and they are now completely absent from many city centers

Dad Tawny sitting on the nest, they are a bit over halfway through the incubation period.
This Quail was the lookout for his family of Quails. There was a family of 4 chicks and a mum and dad quail. The family was in dark shade so we were unable to capture any good photos. Shortly after the family disappeared in the bushes, up pops this male lookout on top of a bush full of berries in a perfect spot and sitting still. He kept a close eye on us as we snapped away taking this pic.
Tillie appears to be resting but is actually keeping a close eye on a toddler who was tossing stones close to the waters edge. Newfoundland Dogs have a tendency to try and keep kids from going into the water, it is part of their natural life saving instincts. :)
Shyann, our Norwegian Elkhund enjoys mornings sitting at our bedroom window looking for any uninvited guests such as deer, turkeys or squirrels in the backyard. The bench she sits on is at the right height for her to just lay her head on the sill and watch.
