Today it was a special day, national Mill day. :-) We visited the mill in Santpoort-Noord. Just 5 minutes from here. The sun, the clouds, yes, it was a real treat. A Dutch treat. Haha.

The miller's wife runs the household. She dries the laundry nearby and cooks on the Dutch wood stove. She heats the irons and dries the laundry, too. Multitasking is a Dutch invention, not Gates or Jobs!

A shorter trip than I expected, Holland, MI is a lovely town along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. I heard about the Tulip Festival (on-going) from a friend so I decided to pack the bags and cameras and took the family for a 3-hour ride. It was a win-win for us. My girls loved the flowers while I conquered my fear and struggles in photographing them :) .
