Here's the salwar kameez with the dupatta, in a simple drape suitable for walking around the city.

Obviously I had a handbag as well (my friend was watching that for me), and there was a pink cardigan too that I neglected to get any pictures of, as I only wore it at the beginning and end of the day.

needed to do my hand before last weekend's events. it was a popular design, ended up doing it on at least half a dozen people...

goes without saying!

Saw this old man selling traditional Jaipuri dupattas (scarfs) in one of the long corridors of Jaipur’s wall city bazaar. He used to go into this ‘gaze down the memory lane’ when he had no customer to cater to and intermittently be, all smiles, greeting his customers.

‘Dupatta’ (Head scarf) is also known as an odhani / chunni is a long scarf or shawl generally worn around the neck or over the head. It very popular among the Asian women and in India it has own significance. Dupatta is an integrated part of rich Indian culture. And also apart from being worn over the head as a mark of respect while going to worship or talking to elders, Dupatta has multiple uses in day-to-day life. Dupatta is draped over the head to avoid burning sun of summer’s heat or pouring rain if caught by a sudden outburst of monsoon shower. Dupatta protects you from the freezing cold day too.

Capt suresh Sharma described it very well and I was inspired by his shot and was in search of right shot. I don’t want to click a simple mug shot but to capture happiness; joy or interesting thing and when I passed through my village I found this girl head covered with dupatta. I liked her smiling face and a very traditional desi Punjabi mutiyaar. I waist no time and captured her with her huge smile. :)

Dress by me. Used vintage indian dupatta, added some red glass beads for color.

For this dress I used beautifully embroidered vintage Indian dupatta.
