Lepenski Vir is an archaeological site on the Danube in Serbia, in the Iron Gate area.
Archaeological work was carried out in 1965-1971, during the earthworks associated with the construction of the dam of the river Danube on the Danube.
Studies have identified settling levels that ranged from around 6000 to 4000 BC, related to the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. When the dam was started the station was flooded. On the western side of the river was erected museum and an open-air museum of old Serbian countryside was built.

Prace archeologiczne przeprowadzono w latach 1965-1971, podczas robót ziemnych związanych z budową tamy Đerdap na rzece Dunaj.
Badania wyróżniły poziomy osadnicze zamieszkane w okresie mniej więcej od 6000 do 4000 p.n.e., które związane były z epoką mezolityczną i z neolitem. Po uruchomieniu tamy stanowisko zostało zalane. Powyżej poziomu wody na zachodnim brzegu rzeki wybudowano muzeum w którym zrekonstruowano odkryte stanowisko a obok utworzono skansen starych zabudowań wiejskich Serbii.

Staré lokomotivy dopravce DB pomalu mizí z německých kolejí v osobní i nákladní dopravě. V čele nákladních vlaků v Bavorsku však stále lze spatřit šestikoláky řady 151. To se poštěstilo 20. července, lokomotiva 151.125 se směskou překonává Mariaorter Brücke přes Dunaj a míří z Regensburgu na Norimberk.
In Bavaria we still can see old locs serie 151 with freight trains. On picture there is 151.125 on bridge over Danube on track from Regensburg to Nürnberg

Again these were taken on the Danube, from my friends canoe. Great fun for all the family. I particularly enjoyed my forays out with the camera in pursuit of shots like this.

Komarom 02-08-2018
Komarom is a Hungarian station (and city) on the Slovakian border, which is drived on the Danube river. The bridge that you can see on the photo drives to road border crossing and to Slovakian city of Komarno, which is located on the second river bank.
The railway station Komarom usually is very busy. Almost in every few minutes you can see there train passing by operated by Hungarian, Slovakian but also Austrian locomotives and operators.
Komarom to stacja i miasto na granicy węgiersko-słowackiej, którą stanowi rzeka Dunaj. Wiadukt widoczny na zdjęciu prowadzi do drogowego przejścia granicznego oraz do słowackiego miasta Komarno leżącego na drugim brzegu rzeki.
Stacja Komarom jest bardzo ruchliwa - co kilka - kilkanaście minut pojawia się na niej jakiś pociąg węgierskiego, słowackiego lub austriackiego operatora.

Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum alebo skrátene Danubiana je múzeum moderného umenia nachádzajúce sa asi 15 km južne od Bratislavy blízko obce Čunovo. Múzeum sa nachádza na polostrove na toku rieky Dunaj. Bolo otvorené 9. septembra 2000.

This was taken back in the summer on our most recent visit to Slovakia. We had use of a small canoe, what a fabulous opportunity that was. I was lucky to get a few images to take home from this time.
This is a juv Purple Heron, allowing a reasonable close approach to get this shot. It doesn't look like the current was strong, however it was a little challenging to get into position with the camera and paddles alike and always heading off down stream.
