The Sanford School for Public Policy at Duke University held the graduation events and ceremonies for the Undergraduate Program on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the Wilson Center gymnasium. The Class of 2013 consisted of 203 undergraduates. Bruce R. Kuniholm, Dean and Professor of Public Policy and History, gave the welcome and opening remarks. Professor Kenneth Rogerson, Director of Undergraduate Studies, and Professor Judith Kelley, Honors Program Director, announced the departmental awards and recognitions for their respective students. Corinne Patricia Merriman and Sarah Elizabeth Nolan split the honors as student speakers. Notable award recipients for the Class of 2013 were Julia Rose Quinn, Best Honors Thesis; David Major Harding, Jr., Terry Sanford Leadership Award; Ian Michael Harwood, Terry Sanford Leadership Award; and Jing Song Ng, Joel Fleishman Distinguished Scholar Award. Professor Judith Kelley was awarded the Susan E. Tifft Teaching and Mentoring Award.

Raised in Waikiki, Duke was a full blooded Hawaiian, who symbolized Hawai'i to millions of people. He developed into an Olympic champion and the world's fastest swimmer. Between 1912 and 1932 he won three gold medals, two silver and a bronze in four Olympics. He is known as the : "Father of International Surfing."

Viget developer Justin Sinichko traveled to Duke University to teach a crash course in hardware hacking. In the 4-hour, hands-on class, Justin covered electronic fundamentals and guided students as they built on top of Particle's Photon, an Arduino-like development kit that abstracts much of the complexity around connected devices.
I decided to play a lot with my lightroom and got the free package of presets from VSCO cam. I tweeked them so that it was more to my liking and I am happy with the "film" look.

First-year medical students visit the galleries as part of a program co-sponsored by Duke’s School of Medicine and the Nasher Museum. The museum visit is part of a required course called “the practice course,” focusing on doctor-patient relationships.
