On the campus of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA. This magnificent chapel was constructed from 1930 to 1932, the Chapel seats about 1,800 people and stands 210 feet (64 m) tall, making it one of the tallest buildings in Durham County.
At the bottom of Maxie Duke falls lies these absolutely brilliant and scenic cascades that I believe the last time I visited were not visible. What you don't see in this photo is the large amount of deadfall which separates the lower portion of the falls from the last two (2) photos posted of upper Maxie. These beautiful cascades reside in this tranquil little mossy alcove that define everything a moving water junkie like myself adores. :) -H3
Bronze sculpture of Duke Kahanamoku in front of (what else?) Duke's in La Jolla in San Diego, California.
Duke Kahanamoku's statue presides over Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. Revered in Hawai'i and other parts of the surfing world, his outstretched arms have leis added each day by locals and tourists alike. Taken just before sunrise.
Taken this morning at Totternhoe, Bedfordshire
Many thanks to all who take the trouble to view and/or comment

This rare and seriously declining butterfly most often occurs in small colonies on north- or west-facing slopes on scrubby chalk and limestone downland, but may also be found in coppiced areas and sunny woodland glades, where it used to be much more common.
