The Duke of Lancaster is a railway steamer passenger ship that operated in Europe from 1956 to 1979, and is currently beached near Mostyn Docks, on the River Dee, north-east Wales. It replaced an earlier 3,600 ton ship of the same name operated by the London Midland and Scottish Railway company between Heysham and Belfast.

This is Duke Farms Great Falls Lake, one of the many places to see on the property. This is looking in both directions from the bridge that crosses over the lake along one of the paved trails. This is a fairly even terrain so even those who can't walk much can navigate the trails and enjoy the many scenic places on the property. In the summer season there is a trolley that goes around the property with a number of stops along the way so that all may enjoy their stay.

Duke of York's Theatre, London. Opened in 1892 and designed by Walter Emden. Now part of the Ambassador Theatre Group and grade 2 listed. The Gallery (top balcony) was taken out of use in 1979 when internal reconstruction preserved the appearance but removed many of the supporting columns by suspending the upper levels from a beam located there.

David “Duke” Zeibert (1910–1997) opened Duke Zeibert's in 1950 in the LaSalle Building on the southwest corner of Connecticut Avenue and L Street NW. He had formerly been a maitre d' at Fan and Bill’s, a popular steakhouse. An inveterate sports fan, Zeibert decorated his dining room with giant caricatures of himself as various types of sports players. Every table was set with a signature dish of garlic infused kosher dill pickles, which filled the dining room with their aroma.

My son and I had a wonderful afternoon at Reifel Bird Sanctuary. As we were walking along the West Trail we were being followed by this lone drake. This path was a quiet "non feeding" zone so we weren't feeding him, but he was determined to stick with us from one end to the other. We named him Duke and he was treated to some seed when we reached the Tower.

A shot taken at Cerne Abbas Giant to show the underside of a male Duke of Burgundy butterfly. Like the marsh fritillary which I've also posted today, you can clearly see that the front legs are reduced to 'brushes', but the Duke is not a member of the Nymphalidae. In this species it is only the male which has vestigial front legs - the female has six normal legs.

Patricia Bay is a body of salt water that extends East from the Saanich Inlet and forms part of the North Saanich shoreline in British Columbia. The bay was named after Princess Patricia of Connaught, daughter of the Duke of Connaught who was Governor General in 1912. The aeroplane is coming in to land at Victoria International Airport (YYJ).

507006 passes Duke Street crossing on a Southport bound service on 25th October 1982.

The 1921 built crossing box was 73 years old when it closed with the abolition of all Northern line boxes after Sandhills IECC was introduced on 11th March 1994.

The unit is over 40 years in service and will be replaced in the next year or so when the new Stadler built class 777 sets are introduced. Aughton Road level crossing can be seen in the background, with the long gone footbridge over Belmont Road.

Of note is the old advert on the wall of the corner shop - amazingly the shop is still there!

This picture was taken on April 2017 during the 10-year reunion of class of 2007. My wife, a Duke graduate, always speaks fondly of her undergraduate days and her time helping with church services on Sunday mornings. I took special care with this capture hoping to print it for her one day.

This place is absolutely breathtaking and amazing
