This popular public road, regarded as one of Britain's best drives, leads you through some of the most scenic parts of the iconic Trossachs landscape. It was originally built by the Duke of Montrose in the 19th century to improve access to his estate, and was later upgraded to accommodate the Victorian tourists drawn to the area after the publication of Sir Walter Scott's epic poem 'The Lady of the Lake' which celebrates the beauty of Loch Katrine.
This is during filming at Arraslea Shires for Countryfile, whilst the cameraman was trying to film, all the sound guy could pick up was the thundering hooves of Duke. Not a great deal can be done to stop him running if he wants to run.

A shot taken at Cerne Abbas Giant to show the underside of a male Duke of Burgundy butterfly. Like the marsh fritillary which I've also posted today, you can clearly see that the front legs are reduced to 'brushes', but the Duke is not a member of the Nymphalidae. In this species it is only the male which has vestigial front legs - the female has six normal legs.

The poster child of GI Joe and the lead hero of the Sunbow cartoon. Duke's a frequently talked about character in the eyes of most Joe fans as you tend to either love him or hate him. Admittedly I'm not a huge fan but he's a crucial member to the team regardless. Have to say though, all biases aside, for one the most popular 80's cartoon characters this figure is somewhat lackluster. That's my opinion though, your mileage may vary.

Okay so technically it's not the '83/'84 Duke as this is the Chinese version w/ Hit & Run arms (pretty much TF Duke in v1 paint), but if you don't tell I won't tell.... Even though I told.
Wasn't happy with the other Duke shot in my dossiers set so this is its replacement. Thanks again to RTG for the fig, most mint-looking Duke I've ever come across! Shot w/ the the bonocs and sans helmet to follow, and yes I still hate the green Stalker smg.
This is Duke Farms Great Falls Lake, one of the many places to see on the property. This is looking in both directions from the bridge that crosses over the lake along one of the paved trails. This is a fairly even terrain so even those who can't walk much can navigate the trails and enjoy the many scenic places on the property. In the summer season there is a trolley that goes around the property with a number of stops along the way so that all may enjoy their stay.

First recorded in 1792 as a pub and in 1795 was bought by Flint's by St. Dunstan's Brewery, The pub was later bought Ash's Dane John Brewery (of Canterbury) which on amalgamation with the East Kent Brewery in 1920 became Ash's East Kent Brewing Co. This was taken over in 1923 by Jude, Hanbury, itself soon taken over by Whitbread which at the same time bought Mackeson's of Hythe from Simonds of Reading. Whitbread then rebranded all Jude, Hanbury pubs, including the Duke's Head, as Mackeson. The pub closed in 1972 when it became a house.
Statue of Duke Paoa Kahanamoku on Kuhio Beach in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii. Duke's legend began when he broke the world record in the 100-yard freestyle during his very first competition. The prodigious Duke went on to win Olympic gold in the 100-meter freestyle and silver in the relay in 1912. He also won two gold medals in 1920 and won a silver medal at age 34 in the 1924 Olympics. Duke was also one of the pioneers of the Waikiki Beach Boys, watermen who earned their livings teaching visitors how to surf and canoe at Waikiki Beach. He is considered to be the Father of modern surfing, having brought it to the US mainland and to Australia.

So here at 10 things about Duke:
1) Duke hates when the kids leave for school in the morning. If given the chance, he'll latch onto the kids' shoes or legs to keep them walking out the door. It's gotten to the point where I have to hold Duke until the kids are out the door.
2) Duke has a girlfriend named Gracie Lou. She's a four year old Siberian Husky and she lives across the street from us.
3) Dukes does not like baths and hates to be brushed or combed. He does, however, like to be brushed under his chin.
4) Duke does not like the water and has never swam in any body of water.
5) The kids and I have given Duke a human personality and say that he attends Duke Prepatory Academy and science is his life :)
6) Duke is terrified of the vacuum cleaner and runs for cover whenever we bring it out!
7) Our mail lady is in love with Duke! When Duke hears her mail truck he demands to be let out because everday she tosses a biscuit to dear Duke.
8) Duke loves to go on car rides - he loves the wind in his hair and is my co-pilot. Although he still whines while in the car.
9) Duke loves to sleep. He takes numerous naps throughout the day and at night he sleeps in bed with me and my DH. Most nights he lies right between us and Duke and I end up sharing a pillow.
10) Duke loves me unconditionally - and that makes me very happy. I consider our family very lucky to have such a cute, funny & loyal pup♥
