I have had several requests to add more information about this photo, so here goes :
During our Sunday lunch, there was a huge downpour. Immediately after the sun came out, and for a few hours the weather changed wildly between clouds, rain, and sun (vive le printemps!).
I was staring out the window at one point, waiting for the clouds to go away so I could go take some shots of the drops on the flowers (like this one and this one - and more to come once I get around to it), and it suddenly occurred to me that I could try and take a shot of the little drops that were stuck to the window. I had already taken this a long time ago (plus many more), which showed me what hidden worlds drops could offer, so I started shooting away.
It's tricky to get the focus right on my little camera, but after about 15 shots I had a few that looked good. This was my favorite. I cleaned up some smudges on the window that distracted from the blurred background (there are still a few more I would have liked to remove) and flipped it upside down, but other than that I didn't touch the photo.
I think the reason these drops turned out so perfectly round was because of the sun that had suddenly warmed up the window, starting the evaporation process, and then the clouds came back, slowing it down. So this is captured somewhere in between. Also, I have no idea if there were some kind of special cleaning products used to wash the window that allowed them to stay so round... it's true that I don't often see them like that!
What you are seeing refracted is a wellhead that exists in the backyard of my girlfriend's parent's house, with grass and trees beyond. There is a flowerpot hanging off the right side. The well is long defunct, but they decorate it well with flowers and such, and if I ever get around to it I have a few other shots of it as well.

Update: I've been informed that this image was blogged and dugg-- I'm extremely flattered! After reading the many comments on the blogs, just a few quick notes: "real" is in the eye of the beholder-- and making something that looks 'real' isn't always the end-all be-all, and certainly not the goal of every artist. Also, this image isn't just HDR, it's the product of a great many things.

Duggan es una localidad situada en la zona noreste de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. El pueblo se encuentra ubicado en el kilómetro 128 de la Ruta Nacional 8, en Partido de San Antonio de Areco, Argentina. A dos horas desde la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Se caracteriza por la tranquilidad y seguridad, habitual de los pueblos rurales. El Pueblo de Labradores, está muy cerca de los haras y studs más importantes del país. Su Fiesta Patronal, -San Juan Bautista- es verdaderamente una fiesta de pueblo.
En el año 1894 fue inaugurada la Estación Duggan, por parte del Ferrocarril Central Argentino, en el ramal Victoria-Pergamino sobre tierras donadas por la familia irlandesa Duggan. Se clausura al tráfico durante 1992 y hoy sus vías pertenecen a la concesión del NCA que no las ocupa.
La antigua estación de ferrocarril, ahora utiliza su edificio la única Escuela Agraria del partido. Lugar donde se realizan las destrezas en las Fiestas Patronales.
La panadería del pueblo, la más vieja del partido de San Antonio de Areco. Data de 1910 o 1911. Es famosa por las “tortas negras”. Conserva un gran número de piezas y herramientas con las que se hacía el pan en el siglo pasado. Allí se encuentra además el “Archivo Histórico de Pueblo y la Región”.
Cuenta con 573 habitantes (INDEC, 2010), lo que no representa cambio frente a los 573 habitantes (INDEC, 2001) del censo anterior.

Rockefeller Center has recently opened their 70th floor observation deck to the public for the first time in many years.
It was 25 degrees outside with a 30+ mph wind on the deck.
I've always enjoyed photographing Skyscrapers from Skyscrapers.
Whispers of Light or Dewlight or a kind of Grasslight Symphony.
💧 Dew & Light:
What Is Dew?
Dew forms when the temperature drops and the moisture in the air condenses onto cooler surfaces like grass. It's most common just after sunrise when the ground is still cool.
Light Refraction & Bokeh Magic
The sparkling dots in the background are caused by specular highlights—where the dew drops act as tiny lenses, catching and refracting sunlight. The hexagonal shapes suggest a lens with a 6-blade aperture, contributing to the beautiful bokeh.
Miniature Lenses
Dew drops behave like convex lenses. In close-up or macro photography, they can even invert or magnify the background within their tiny sphere—a natural optical trick.
Golden Angle Timing
Shooting just after sunrise, especially with low-angle light, enhances the sparkle and transparency of dew-covered grass. This is sometimes referred to as a “micro golden hour” in macro photography.
Dew and Ecology
For many small insects and plants, dew is a crucial source of water—especially in ecosystems where rain is scarce or irregular.

Just to clarify: this is a single exposure, and IS taken on a DSLR camera, along with the camera's own noise reduction to get rid of hot-spots. The same shot as a long exposure on film can be seen here.
Thank you for the views/fave's/comments. I hope it inspires some of you to have a go at some long exposures too - this was, afterall, only my second attempt. :-)

Went with Phil, Gwen and Dugg in the early morning for the photo shot. Picked up by Phil at 3:40am. What a lovely day I had with them
I post a second set of photos from our hike up to Geitabotn. If you haven't seen the previous posting will you understand more by viewing it first.
This is from the last part of the path. Many places have the people and packhorses that walked here year after year dugg the path deep in the ground. To me that is a strong impression of the work it took to make a living from farming in days gone by. Every resource had to be used, and the mountain pastures were important.
Remember that as a hiker you have walked about an hour in terrain as steep as you see here. My father told me that they rebuilt the stonecottage after an avelanche when he was young. He did three trips up one day, with 30-40 kg of building materials.
There are more photos in the first comment, including some flowerphotos. But remember that wild flower photos does NOT make me a softie! Only garden flower photos would do.
