It was a wonderful night! We were having good time conversing and enjoying the beauty of the JBR/Marina views and the colorful lights reflections!

That reminders me of the awesome musical piece by the great composer “Yanni”; the one which was performed live at “The Acropolis” and hence the name!

According to Yanni, the piece was about the quality time he spent with his father and the values he learnt from him.

I guess it was the atmospheric similarity!!!

Here’s a link to the video, if your time allows:

Such eye feast at Dubai Marina.

It was taken practically 3 hours after I arrived Dubai.

A tad too bright perhaps :) but I want to convey the cheerful mood. Quite brisky wind this night and small boat traffics so the water is not smooth as I'd like to to be. Make sure to let me know what you think.

Hope you like it. Have a great weekend ahead friends.

Cheers. Thank you for your view and support

I was standing on those same rocks during sunset taking nice sharp base ISO shots of the buildings.. but something was missing.

As it got darker and I walked away this guy climbed on the rocks and started taking selfies.

5 out of the 10 tallest residential buildings in the world are in this block, tallest seen here is Marina 101 which you guessed it has 101 floors

Dubai Marina, desembre de 2015.

Dubai Marina, as an artificial canal system, surrounded by new modern resident apartments, providing latest version of 1001 night stories.

a year ago, when the world had not yet been closed...

The window washer was dangling around 60th floor of the famous twisted Cayan building in Dubai UAE.

Do you see him? :)

A snippet of the building background:

Cayan Tower, known as Infinity Tower before it was inaugurated, is a 306-metre-tall (1,004 ft), 73-story skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by Cayan Real Estate Investment and Development. The tower is designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill SOM architectural group, the same group who did the concept design for the Burj Khalifa, also in Dubai, and Trump Tower in Chicago. Upon its opening on 10 June 2013, the tower became world's tallest high-rise building with a twist of 90 degrees, this has been surpassed by the Shanghai Tower.

It's not a very intentional shot, just fooling around with my new zoom lens :D

But this location is nice, yet another extension of the land into the sea and it's still under construction so not full of tourists.

Fav if you noticed the child in the back seat!

Dubai marina, dinner cruise

It is nothing but a bar chart of success as one of my flickr mates Trevor commented on my previous photo titled “Dubai’s Towering Ambitions”.

Competition among skyscrapers is quite fierce in Dubai these days.

Location: A small courtyard near the Dubai Marina.

Description: On Tuesday, I spent most of the day exploring the wonders of Dubai’s inner-city… heh heh… I got quite a stiff neck from looking up all the time!!

Dubai Marina, Dubai

This hadn’t been developed when we last visited so we plumped for a hotel right in the heart of the marina. When I told my sister, we were going back to Dubai she bought me a jigsaw (Ravensburger 1000 piece) of the marina, which we completed the week before we went. It features the Cayan Tower – a twisty, corkscrew skyscraper that towers over every other building in the marina complex.

I thought this should be easy to find!

You can virtually walk right around the marina (a couple of bridges at either end to negotiate) but it another long walk – the blurb says it’s “a 7 km long promenade that attracts fitness enthusiasts, leisurely walkers, and tourists seeking a memorable experience in one of Dubai’s most vibrant neighbourhoods”. I’d say it’s longer with all the curves and bridge crossings if you’re desperate to complete the full circuit.

Conclusion – the jigsaw is either a very old picture or they can build skyscrapers quicker than we can repair potholes!

Here’s and obvious tune to go with my image…

Dubai is home to many extremely tall modern high-rises: 108 stand taller than 180 meters. The skyscrapers of Dubai are, for the most part, clustered in three different locations. The land along the E11 was the first to develop, followed by the Dubai Marina neighborhood and the Business Bay district. On display is a view of the Dubai Marina neighborhood from the Persian Gulf at dusk – Dubai, United Arab Emirates
