Janaling Textiles: a grandmother who goes to town on Tuesdays and Fridays to pick up the drycleaning from her clients and completes the job at her home in Katote. She doesn't use her mobile for business; she only uses it to contact her children.
I used to walk by this building all the time when I was a kid. I love that they've kept it original. Just to be clear this building is before my time. My mother also remembers it from when she was a kid.

3 years ago, I fell in love with this sign. It was the Las Vegas of drycleaner signs. On the day I took these, there was a sign on the door saying that they'd closed last year.
Guess I'll never get to go reshoot it at night now.
Friday morning I went to pick up my suit from the drycleaner and took my camera with me. I wanted to document the old equipment in this 100 year old shop in an old house in Hodmezovasarhely, Hungary - the shop was started by the grandfather of the current owner, who is also 70 years old and may not continue this business for long.
An old electric spin dryer in the workshop - made in Germany in 1928, when they still used copper for the drum. Since they use benzyne in the workshop, the electric engine has to be in the other room, and the torque passed onto the machine with the help of axles and belts.
The Central Springs Inn Motel cnr of Howe & Camp Streets Daylesford. The front section is the 1875 National Trust classified Howe’s Provender Store and the back section is the 1865 Gentleman’s Guesthouse where you can find their reception, dining room and conferencing area.
I can remember as a kid walking into the front door where the signage is now and it was a Dry Cleaners where you could drop your clothes off and pick them up the next day. My memory as I was only young can recall the sound of air, perhaps the steam releasing and the smell all to it's own. the only place that sound right and smells the same is a trip to the Steam Rally at Beaufort where it brings back those past memory of yesterdays Daylesford.

Mead Place, just off London Road. I think possibly access is via the shop next door. Or maybe it was just closed that day.
The demolition of Star Cleaners resulted in a great variety of debris, junk, and lots of sawdust. (218a)
