Here's a better picture of the ceiling layers. There's actually some wall board in places but even that was put up with nails and is popping off and the seams are all messed up. Because of all the texture on the ceiling it wouldn't be easy to just patch either. I'm going to have to cover the whole thing with 1/4" drywall anyway.

This is about the worst of the damage on the ceiling. It looks like there was wallpaper that was painted over but peeled off still.

John-
The major odor problem was fixed approximately two weeks ago. Thank you for pushing for this to be solved.
Today Engineering is replacing water damaged ceiling tiles. One cooling line continues to collect condensation and drip, but otherwise the big odor problem has been solved.
Thank you again.

Michael,
I am aware that the odor continues. I had discussed the problem with
Pete Pessoni in Operations, and have had several communications/updates
from Tony Chibbaro and Bob Casparius of EHS. I understand that
Engineering and EHS have been devoting a lot of time and effort to
determine the source of the odor and eliminate it, but as yet have been
unsuccessful.

Thank you for taking our call last week regarding the odor in room
641F that has gotten so bad that people would not use the equipment
in the room.
Engineering and EHS staff have been very busy here since Friday, but
they have not yet identified the odor and it continues.
Thanks-
