Graffiti along the river in Vienna. The city opened a long area of park property to graffiti artists in order to reduce graffiti all over the city. It worked and the results are....well see for yourself.Perhaps also a sign of the times
Vandaag had ik een halve dag vrij, maar het weer zette niet echt aan tot grote ambities om foto's te gaan maken. Daarvoor was het te koud, te grijs… enfin, het was toch wel droog, dus trok ik omstreeks 15u20 toch even naar Hennuyères om de Ouigo vanuit Parijs vast te leggen bij doortocht. Mijn standpunt was snel gekozen, namelijk vanuit het noordwesten, een plek waar je – tenzij in de hoogzomer – nooit frontlicht op de loc krijgt.
Toen de trein doorkwam, was er trouwens iets meer licht dan bij vertrek uit mijn woonplaats. Dat kwam omdat er naar het westen een schaarse opklaring was, maar desondanks kwam toch ISO 6400 te pas om de foto toonbaar te maken (en Topaz Photo AI op de pc voor de ruisonderdrukking).
De Ouigo-diensten zijn deze week trouwens gereduceerd tot één heen- en terugrit van en naar de Franse hoofdstad, met een vertrek in Brussel in de ochtend en de terugrit dan na het kopmaken in de namiddag. Waarom er dan toch weer geen volledige stam in Ouigo-kleuren voorbijkwam, is me nog steeds een raadsel.
Oh ja, deze plek is trouwens stilletjes aan ook aan het toegroeien — zonder deftige snoeibeurt gaat deze niet lang meer bruikbaar zijn.
De trein op de foto is de OTC 65 Paris Nord – Brussel Zuid, een verbinding die, ondanks de gereduceerde dienstregeling, toch een interessante passage blijft vormen op een verder rustige namiddagsessie.

I had a half day off today, but the weather didn’t exactly inspire ambitious photography. It was cold, grey… but at least dry, so around 3:20 PM I went to Hennuyères to capture the Ouigo coming up from Paris. My shooting spot was quickly chosen — from the northwest, a place where you never get front light on the locomotive unless it’s midsummer.
When the train passed, there was actually a little more light than when I left home thanks to a rare clearing to the west, but even so I still needed ISO 6400 to make the photo usable (with Topaz Photo AI on the PC to handle the noise).
The Ouigo services have been reduced this week to a single round trip between Brussels and the French capital, with one morning departure from Brussels and the return after the run-around in the afternoon. Why a full Ouigo-liveried set once again failed to appear is still a mystery to me.
This spot, by the way, is gradually becoming overgrown — without a proper trimming it won’t remain usable for much longer.
The train in the photo is OTC 65 Paris Nord – Brussels Midi, a connection that, despite the reduced timetable, still provides an interesting passage during an otherwise quiet afternoon session.

Zoals elk jaar heeft strandpaviljoen Zeezicht weer wat beschilderde etalagepoppen op dak gezet. Het zijn fotogenieke eyecatchers. Instagrammable vermoed ik. Te vinden ten noorden van de Pier op Scheveningen.

Great Speaker. Dashing. Charming. He even sang "I'm Singing in the Rain" for us and told all sorts of anecdotes of films that he's done and people that he's worked with.
Tried some different lighting for this one. I enjoyed putting this iconic scene together from Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. Hope you droogs like it!
