I accidentally spoiled just a few drops of water on my tablet.... but when I wanted to clean it, I noticed a strange glow, so I took my camera and this colorful drop is the result. Or should I call it a pixel-drop? ;-))
Happy Macro Mondays everyone ;-))

Macro Mondays: Drips, Drops and Splashes
We've had lots of rain! These are a tiny delight in the bush.
Grano in spiga, mazzolino dell'amor mio,
Grano in spiga, andiamo in alto mare,
Grano in spiga, ti lasciai da seminare,
Grano in spiga, tornerò che sarai pane!
(Rudyard Kipling dal libro Capitani coraggiosi)
This theme is a subject that I love but am not good at.
It's too difficult to capture the moment when a drop falls. I took a lot of time and took an incredible number of shots. In my brain, there was a composition of the moment when the water burst more magically, but I could’nt make it at all.
Image spans 2.25in. across.
Illuminated with two Nikon speedlights, one on right, low and angled up with snoot, grid and orange gel, the second light is high left and defused. Background is white foam core. Nikon's CLS used to fire remote speedlights.

Drips, Drops and splashes of water in a Petri dish. I just could not nail the focus on the moving drops.

Macro mondays Water Splash theme caught my interest, I had great fun....but was a bit difficult........I wont be able to post on monday...........i liked the end result..... I am pleased to be able to post this image from hospital... A very successful knee replacement. And Internet connection from my bed....
Macro Mondays 'drips, drops, and splashes' theme.
I haven't done one of these for quite a while and struggled with the timing, with a lot of shots not having any drips in the frame! I did have a couple where the refractions were better but the droplets didn't stand out as well so settled for this one.
The image measures approx 1.5" square.

Do not ask how I created this. It is the only one out of 3000 shots where i got two columns.
The glass has a diameter of 45mm, It is a Schnaps glass.
Camera on tripod, flash is connected via PC-sync-cable, triggered by a release cable and controlled by eyes and fingers.
Happy Macro Monday!
Thanks for all your faves and comments everyone!
I really appreciate them!
For Macro Mondays' #drips, drops and splashes theme
It's been a while since I've been here, but this really tapped into something I've wanted to try for ages. (And luckily it corresponded with the family all going off on scout camp and leaving me to my own devices for a few days....)
The background is a colouring-in sheet I completed years ago; even back then I appear to have been quite keen on rainbows!
The image is just over 2inches across.
I'm pretty certain there is no requirement to have motion for this theme, but I'm conscious this is a little different from others in the pool. It's definitely drops, though, and definitely under 3inches across, so hoping it fits.
